Co-main event on UFC Fightpass in the warm-up slot under Bohachuk vs. Igbokwe tomorrow night. 8 rounds @ super middleweight, with neither holding any hardware nor world ranking and both coming off stoppage losses.

Akhmedov suffered his first professional defeat in Decmber of last year in a mild upset by Ecuadorian southpaw Carlos Góngora Mercado filling in on late notice. Akhmedov dominated the first half of the contest before things unraveled, due to a combination of fatigue and Góngora's late surge of power shots opening a cut before knocking him out. He will have been spending 9 months in the gym working on x's and o's with Johnathon Banks and then applying his lessons in sparring with main partner Badou Jack.

Zegarra most recently was fed to David Lemieux in a tuneup. It went about how you'd expect.

This pair was actually originally supposed to meet on July 31st on another Tom Loeffler card, but it fell through, Akhmedov's second comeback fight to be scuppered in 2021 (after Scott Sigmon in February).
