Ali didn't get bashed for Mildenberger, why is Vitali for Sosnowski?

I would understand the hate if there was better opposition available right now, but evidently there isn't. Also, it's not like fighting an unknown EU belt holder is something the HW boxing world hasn't seen before. I looked through the records of a few HW champs to see if they ever fought little known EU belt holders. And what do you know I found two.

Why exactly is Vitali being bashed by so many for fighting Sosnowski? "Oh the legendary ATGs of the good old days would never have fought a bum like Sosnowski". Really? Take a look:

    1. Muhammad Ali - Karl Mildenberger (1966) (video: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xrefv_muhammad-ali-vs-karl-mildenberger-p_sport )

Mildenberger was a relatively unknown EU champ. Well known in his home country but with very little international HW exposure or experience at the top level. Before fighting Ali, Mildenberger lost two fights to complete bums by KO. He fought Ali in a stadium fight in Germany and lost via TKO12.

    2. Lennox Lewis - Zeljko Mavrovic (1998 ) (video: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/ZeIjBszBB6g/)

Mavrovich was a completely unknown European level fighter who managed to land the WBC mandatory spot thanks to his EU title. He was unbeaten before facing Lewis, having beaten a list of nobodies such as Eros, Francis and Cantatore. He lost to Lewis via a rather lopsided UD12.

Because Ali was cleaning out his division and had already whooped ATGs in Liston and Patterson, Vitali has done NOTHING to be spoken in the same sentence as Ali, nuthugger.

Ali fought Alvin Lewis, a genuine ATG to make up for it.

Yea you clown, but Mildenberger was still a bum just like the rest of the "bum of the month" nobodies that Ali fought around his European tour. Sosnowski would have fit right into Ali's victim profile of the time.

Uhmmm...He actually has a point. Vitali tried to make a legit defense against the craven caveman, Valuev, but the human hairball chickened out. I don't like this defense anymore than anyone else. But great champs through history have taken on "lesser" competition when they couldn't get the big fights (not that I'm saying Vatali is a great champ, he's merely a very good one). Louis had his infamous bum of the month club, and Ali fought Chuck Wepner for god's sake!

Never fough none of them? Which champs are you referring to??? He tried to make a fight with Haye, Haye pulled out. He tried to make a fight with Valuev, Valuev chicken out. I don't like this defense anymore than you do, but it's clear that the guy at leat tried to make a good fight.

The key words there are 'european tour'. Ali was touring the world, building up his popularity, and knowing Ali banging women in every country to see which one he liked best. I could be wrong but I believe he fought the best each country had available.

The idea was to do a goodwill tour of sorts, it wouldn't have been the point to fly Cleveland Williams or some top American contender over to Germany so the Germans could see a legit contender in action.

As for Klit, I don't hold it against him. There's not a lot of people left for him to fight. Would Adamek really put up much more opposition than any of the others? I don't think so.

Are you talking about Ali or are you talking about Joe Louis?

How can you call anyone who holds the championship of a continent a bum?

And if Ali was in Klitschkos shoes, who would he try to fight today, genius? Hmmm....My guess is he'd try to take on Haye. Okay, Vitali tried, Haye ran. Okay, then maybe he'd take on a former beltholder like Valuev. Again, he tried, Valuev ran. With a approaching mandatory against Solis, it's hillarious that hater begrudge a 38 year-old fighter an easy title defense. :patsch

    WTF are you talking about?

    Exactly WHO has Vitali beat?

    Who?

Ali had already beaten Liston TWICE BY KO/TKO when he fought Mildenberger.

Klitschko has been a Champion or Contender for how long?

And again I ask, exactly WHO has Vitali beat?

    Stop with this insanity...

He is not comparing Ali to Vitali, he is simply comparing this one defense with some of Ali's defenses. Get a clue, folks. READ before you reply.
