    Bull****...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't for the life of me believe that Foreman,or any fighter, would be stupid enough to believe something like that.

So , just like always , you deny a fact .
This time the fact is that George Foreman came in dehydrated into the ring against Jimmy Young .

It's nothing to do with denial. It's just that I can't believe that an athlete,in ANY sport, would be freakin' well stupid enough to believe that dehydration would enhance sporting performance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fact is that for some reason , Foreman entered the ring dehydrated , against both of Ali & Young , in 2 separate hot days .

That was not "mother nature"'s job , it was a part of his trainers' job .

Ali and Young were simply nightmare type opponents for Foreman. It had f*** all to do with the heat. Do I have to quote Joey Maxim for the umpteenth time ?

No heat..? The ref collapse in Manilla you ****ing ******. Foreman vs Ali was not even a close fight, the rope and dope is a complete and utter myth. Muhammad Ali won 90% of all the rounds, and won the first 4 of the 5 rounds..........

Ali would of beaten up a fatter, George Foreman in Manilla.

Walker Smith Jr. was not dehydrated against Giuseppe Berardinelli . George Foreman , however , was dehydrated before each of his fights against Ali and Young even begun .
Plus , Against Ali the ropes were loose in addition to that heat and enabled Ali to :
    1) avoid punches better by stretching backwards quicker and further

    2) absorb the punches that still landed

    3) remain upright despite the damage that the few punches that did land and partially absorbed still made .

In addition to the heat and Foreman's dehydration and possibly being drugged by Saddler it all led to Foreman's exhaustion and overheating .

Just notice how some time this thread is virtually closed and sometimes it is not :

But if Foreman comes in after having is belly partially filled with water for a change ..

But probably Archie Wright was made of the same matter Dick Saddler was made from ..

    if u know what i mean ..

So probably Archie Wright would have sent a dehydrated Foreman into the ring in the heat against Ali

All I can deduce is that you must think that Foreman was as thick as ****,in that case. Which he was n't !

out of curiosity, was Foreman dehydrated when he was knocking out everyone left, right and centre? Or just, rather conveiniently, for the 2 fights he lost?

And if so, surely he would have twigged on the second time after Zaire

"Uh, Dick/Archie? Ive won 100% of my fights being well hydrated. The only 1 i didnt, i was beaten. Do you really want me to dehydrate for this Young guy?"

Foreman would have fought more cautiously, paced himself more, not leaned in as much and allowed himself to get clinched as much, which would have made the fight last longer, but that would also have played into Ali's hands as well, because without the brutal pace and nonstop blows, Ali could have boxed and moved a bit more comfortably, not been trapped on the ropes as much (yes Foreman cut him off very well early, which is why Ali didn't waste his legs bothering to move), and at the end of the day, Ali's speed and superior defense would overcome Foreman's superior power, whether it was fighting from the ropes or at ring center. So either way I see Ali winning. I just see it as lasting longer in a rematch. Ali probably gets him in rounds 12-15 this time, though a points victory is not totally out of the question. Foreman simply was not fast enough for Ali, either with his punches or with his defense. And like someone noted, Foreman was so heavy handed and big and strong, that he's going to be slowing and sucking wind in the last 5 no matter what, and we know Ali could really fire them in there in the late rounds when he sensed fatigue from his foes. Spells trouble for George even if he fought a smarter fight.

Here's the bottom line boys. Ali IMO is the greatest HW of all time; we never saw the great one from summer-67/summer-70, that being said?....
Why talk about a 75-76 Ali rematch with Foreman? Ali (who did play us all in his second career despite his greatness) never wanted a rematch with George.
My scenerio? George wouldn't be stupid (among other liabilities he faced in Zaire)
Ali is not going to knock out George...forget it, back to basics.
Ali never gave Foreman a rematch because he may well have lost. period.
And...please don't continue to bring up the Lyle fight as it may have shown that Ron and George were, somehow, roughly equals?...in talent??
Foreman was brain-dead against Lyle. Ron doesn't belong in the same arena as George based on talent.

    Right .

It is very complicated to understand how loose ropes make a difference and how being dehydrated in the heat only adds to it .
Then I also forgot to credit Ali for his holding Foreman behind the head in this certain combination of occurrences .
