How do you see it going if there was a rematch the same as the first fight or do you see foreman solving the ali puzzle ?

same outcome, besides ali's ring iq and him being a human sponge for punishment what also really helped him was his handspeed, he had faster hands than foreman not having the legs anymore he could punch from the clinch or on the ropes. Ali and foreman both declined after zaire, Foreman mentally and ali physically, especially after manilla.

I don't know why people think Ali somehow "tricked Foreman" and was therefore afraid to rematch him. Ali didn't just lay on the ropes hoping and praying that he could withstand the assault long enough to force Foreman to drop from exaustion. That's a gross exaggeration of the fight. Ali beat Foreman from pillar to post. He beat him to the punch round after round, even before the rope-a-dope started to take shape the last couple of rounds. Foreman was never in the fight for a single minute of the fight. Ever.

The fact is, Foreman's confidence was so shaken after that fight that he would have lost even faster or more comprehensively the second time around. Just a bad overall stylistic matchup.

Demi im with u, when i watched the fight the 1st time after hearing how Ali took a massive pummelling for 6 rounds etc, I thought bloody hell Ali is beating him to the punch- landing scoring punches etc. Now there were times Ali laid back and took a beating to the body and arms, but usually he sprung off and landed combos...must have been demoralising for Foreman

Foreman would have had no chance as long as he only punched in arcs, which was almost exclusively how he punched during his first run. He didn't develop straight punches until he was in his second run. Because of that Ali was constantly outlanding him and getting out of the way.

Same result. Ali had broken Foremans aura of invincibility and therefore destroyed him mentally. George was a wreck and it took him almost a decade to recover. The rematch was close to happening btw, but Foreman lost to Jimmy Young then disappeared.

Alit late stoppage. In Ali's prime he would make George look a fool imo.

If the ropes wrrent so damn loose that Ali could lean back 4ft then who knows. Foreman couldn't reach his damn head to hit.
