Shavers had two major flaws. One was he tired out relatively quickly. Secondly his chin was not that great.

Shavers style against Ali was not to over exert himself so he could last 15 rounds. He conserved himself so much that he had lost 8 rounds and any possibility of a decision win by the 12th-13th round. He did however conserve himself so much that he came on like gangbusters the last 3 rounds looking to ko the champion. (Turning the tables on Ali who usually was the one with gas in his tank). Only Ali's durability prevented Shavers from accomplishing his comeback as he was hit with hellacious right hands that had him out on his feet several times during those rounds.

Young blew that fight when he melted down and resorted to sticking his head through the ropes. If it was circus Jimmy was the Ringleader.

Ali covincingly knocked Foreman out after the Norton knock out obviously relegating its value. He took longer to beat a shot, out of shape Frazier, and he barely survived Lyle who was best known for his loss to Ali. I don't think his victories over Scott LeDoux, John Denis and Pedro Agosta made him anoverwhelming favorite.

You don't think the first two sentences are intrinsically linked? The Stander and Cobb fights certainly suggest so.

I will make it more simple than your blablabla. Foreman would have beaten everybody in the world in 1976 in the ranking except MAYBE young.ali could beat foreman in 1974 once, still he destroyed frazier ,norton and lyle much faster than ali could ever dream. "He barely survived lyle" you say this **** like if lyle was the winner... Foreman won by ko PERIOD.Jean pier,Richard dunn, norton and evangelista deserved a title shot more than foreman sure lmao

I totally agree ,Young did not have a winners mentality, offered the Championship on a plate against a fat aging champ he found a way to snatch defeat for the jaws of victory.
