Ali fought in Germany, Zaire, UK, Philippines. Why can't Wlad fight in Russia?

Why is K2 acting like fighting on foreign soil is unacceptable? They lost the purse bid, they ought to play by the winning promoter's rules now.

What part of this doesn't Wlad get: Goto Moscow, knock out Povetkin, collect a record payday and fly home with all your belts.

Its the drug testing they have issues with.

If that was so important to them then they should have won the purse bid. They lost it so they play by the rules of the winning promoter and the sanctioning organizations.

They're the mighty K2. No one tells them what to do. Let alone someone who is going to chuck €17mill at them. How dare they suggest they use the WADA affiliated national drug testing agenc of the country in which the fight is being held. How ludicrous.

Clearly a conspiracy to fake a failed drug test. The promoter offering a compromise of having the samples tested by 2 other organisations if all just a smokescreen. The entire world AntiDoping agency is in Hrunev's pocket.

Hrunov looks like a champ in this entire mess. He is trying all he can to accommodate K2's ridiculous demands. Bonte looks like a nervous brat who is about to lose his favorite toy and quickly cries foul.

He's afraid of Russian needles seems to be the consensus. I don't know why he would throw away so much money for something as stupid as the drug agency. I doubt the whole conspiracy that they would do something with his sample. It's just a crazy conspiracy in my opinion.

I have no doubts that if it wasn't going to lead to a severe PR disaster for k2, Boente would pull out of this fight and have Wlad fight more slow, unskilled plodders in front of stadiums full of easily pleased Germans to see out the rest of his career. That's his tried and tested business model and he's absolutely devastated that he's being chased into a corner and forced to deviate from it for this fight.

He doesn't like it and he's going into full Bob Arum mode. Any day now I'm expected him to claim that Wlad is scared of needles, they need to build a new stadium for the fight or that Povetkin is ducking Wlad.

They lost the purse bid and are now crying about it.

Fact is that the Klitschkos are control freaks and bullies who try to get their own way. Like most bullies they are also mentally weak and have quit in the past when they couldn't bully a smaller man and have their own way.

    No.

    Purse bids winner's prerogative.

I should add that I'm sure that Wlad would take the fight no problem if its what his promoter decided, but Boente calls the shots and Wlad will do whatever he says.

Guillermo Jones, Jones Jr, James Toney had no issues going to Russia to fight their son.
Anybody know what agency was used when Vitali fought Charr?
Why would Vitali even go to Moscow if he think Russia is out to get them?

Boente said this when Povektin became WBA mandatory.

"povetkin is not a true champion, he’s the same [as everyone else], a normal contender. We will not allow anyone to force us to do anything.”—Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente.

They want no part of Povektin. As an amateur he beat the very best. He's too dangerous and has a style that can beat Wlad.

Another Brit-obsessed poster turns up. It's staggering the impact that such a small little group of islands can have on boxing fans. Really does fill you with a feeling of immense superiority when you think about how bad their own countries of residence must be in comparison to Britian that they can't go a day without posting about it or its inhabitants.

Rule Brittania. God save our Queen.

But it's true they're fighting in Russia so why shouldn't they use the russian testing?

Good point about Vitali - Charr happening in Moscow. Now all of a sudden Russia is all corrupt and evil and they can't fight there. It's obviously an elegant excuse to talk their ass out of the fight. Terrible to see this.
