HOW THE *$&% DID ALI GET UP RIGHT AWAY FROM FRAZIER'S DEVESTATING PUNCH ...15th round ONE OF THE TOP PUNCHERS OF ALL TIME LANDS ABOSLUTELY FLUSH ON HIM...ALI GETS UP SEEMINGLY UNDAZED RITE AWAY. Sorry had to post about this. I never saw round 15 of the fight. That was unbelievable.
Muhammad Ali was the greatest heavyweight of all time, and not just as a result of his reflexes, handspeed, and persona. The man had one of the all-time great chins. He took bombs from huge punchers even when he was past his sell-by date against Shavers and Lyle. An extrodinary fighter.
Gross punch. Perfect left hook. It's not just that which is impressive...It's that this was THE 15TH ROUND. Ali should be dead tired and any flush shot should daze him
Getting floored in round 11 is different from getting hit flush by a prime Joe Frazier's left hook in the 15th round. A lot of Heavyweights today wouldn't even be able to fight for 15 rounds for christ sake.
great fight, in the latter stages of ali's career he still had great refelexes, but he could not depend on them as much as he could when he faced liston, so when preparing for fights he would prepare himself to be hit with bombs from the likes of frazier and foreman.
I've read Frazier autobiography. He says it wasn't the hardest left hook he threw, but it was accurate and on the button and Ali was very very tired.... Great heart and chin to get up from that.
The heart that Ali had was beyond compare. As soon as he hits the canvas he begins to getup. That was pure instinct. A thinking Ali would have gathered himself, taken a moment the resumed fighting. Ali's base reaction was to get back in the fray. Goldn
i think frazier did catch him in the 11th but there feet crossed and there was a slight delay before ali went down
His point was Ali was much more hurt in round 11, which is true. He got nailed time and time again by some monster left hooks, but kept himself up and somehow survived. He had a heart second to none, a chin that's right up there, and recuperative powers second to none. Brilliant, brilliant fighter.
Just an amazing performance put on by these two fighters with Frazier prevailing. Ali showed great determination in getting up from that left hook by Smokin', you're not the only one who was suprised.
Co-Sign. Did you happen to bump into my "the greatest heavyweight chin" a few days ago? I didn't put Ali in the options for no reason.
