Valero is not P4P the hardest puncher in the sport. Until he shows that he can put decent opposition to sleep then I'll maybe lean towards the fact that he is, but the guy has hardly fought anyone.
Funeka is just too chinny to survive against Valero. He was getting rocked by featherfisted Guzman and dropped repeatedly vs. Campbell's wild haymakers despite only being a decent puncher. The first solid shot Valero lands on Funeka will rock or drop him and then it's game over.
Funeka without a doubt would be a major step up for Valero where as Ali has already been in with a pressure fighter with power in Campbell and one of the most skilled fighters in Guzman. Based on resumes I'd favor Funeka however Valero's power could potentially overwhelm any 135 lber so a ko victory for him wouldn't surprise me.
I know what you mean, but I'd fancy Funeka's jab, better form and long straight right to get to Valero (who was dropped and rocked by a much lesser puncher in Mosquera) before El Inca gets a shot on Funeka. Because of the intangibles it's a 50-50 fight.
Funeka isn't hard to hit actually. Guzman was landing his feather fists with regularity. The only thing Guzman needed to win that fight was power.
oops! I thought u meant Guzman-Valero, whereas I got Edwin by KO. Funeka iz a different story. Tough call...
I say Funeka beats him down, but loses a UD. Funeka won easily last night, and I had him beating Campbell also. Besides the kd's against Campbell, I had Funeka trailblazing Nate.
