he fought many fighters as big or bigger. u speak lies. why would he be bigger today? u speak lies. rest later, can only put with so many of your fibs in 1 setting.
I wouldn't favor anyone his own size, saying that I'd definitely take the 215/217 hw version of holyfied over him with the most confidence one could have only without the guarantee, close to a guarantee but let's give Ali the respect he deserves. On any given night wlad could best him but the opposite is true too. Our current top heavyweighs are simply playing a different game. Idc how much crying when have LL, Aj, DW are simply way too big. Ali v Parker would be a dream for me
Because Aj could very well turn out to be the greatest hw ever, atm LL is the greatest, Aj is showing signs of that level of special. Wlad should NOT be mentioned next to Aj, you'll eventually learn the obvious
What about the young fight though with foreman? what were the conditions like there ?? Ali had Georges number. My list would be all in their primes Joe Frazier Ken Norton Lennox Lewis Riddick Bowe Both Klitschkos I really think Foremans over rated bar A slight past prime Frazier and the Norton blow out. All my opinion of course
1. I don't favor anybody over him but I think Louis vs Ali and Dempsey vs Ali are both 50/50 fights. 2. Nobody to favor over him but the closest it gets is 50/50 with Louis and Dempsey.
Are you serious? Prime Wlad is levels above Joshua who hasn't even been tested yet. Put Joshua in with Wilder and we'll see how good he is.
I confess I haven't seen Foreman/Young or really any young Foreman fights bar Frazier & Ali and highlights of Norton & Lyle so maybe I am overrating big George a bit, you might be on the money about Ali having his number.(I will try to educate myself on this further) I concur with your list (I forgot to add Norton), do you think Ali handles Joshua or is it just too early to discern for you?
Is it possible you may harbour a bias towards fighters from the distant past? It crazy to me you give Dempsey/Louis a better shot than the likes of Bowe/Lewis. If Norton can out-jab Ali to victory multiple times couldn't Lewis or Wladimir Klitschko do likewise?
I probably do have a subconscious bias towards those fighters... I prefer quality. Fighters over the years have become more and more basic. Lewis, Wlad and Bowe are just big. Shrink them down to 6' 200 lbs and they would rarely if not never get favored over any top 10 atg fighters. Klitschko, Lewis, Bowe and all the big heavies never parried the jab. That was crucial to Norton's game plan to beat Ali. If Norton only threw the counter jab he never would have beat him. Also, Norton had a style suited to beat the boxer types. None of the super heavies do. People get so overwhelmed by the number on the scale and the height measurement that they rule out what each fighter brings to the table. It's a fight not a pie eating contest. Bowe had a fast jab like people say only about 50% of the time. Other than that he was slow as molasses. The proof lays in the film. Same with the other guys. Conditioning comes into play too. It's going to take more than 6 rds of work to beat Ali. I look past the size. The size is irrelevant unless they are fighting a guy who can't handle being outweighed by so much. Ali was fast and the slower his opponents are the better he is.
If we are talking Ali at his best no one is favored to beat him. Just too quick and his punches cut opponents to ribbons. Ali's jab was superior to all others as his lateral movement allowed him to hit at angles.
No doubt this is the case but facts are that heavyweights these days are so much bigger/stronger. Nobody is arguing that the modern super heavies are more skilled, its just because of the size disparity, heavyweights of bygone eras would have such a hard time overcoming this despite possessing superior skills. There must be a reason the trend at heavyweight over the last couple decades has seen 6f5'+ 250lb+ boxers dominate. The heavyweights of old would be cruiserweights today. 2 examples of CWs who moved to HW are Haye and Holyfield who although enjoyed success (particularly Holy) came up short against the super heavies, Holyfield with Bowe & Lewis, Haye with W.Klitschko.
Joshua with more experience would be to big for the 70's fellas. Way to big to over power. Lennox Lewis Riddick Bowes klits bro's, they are the fellas I compare him to...At the moment they **** him
Admittenly i posted that jokingly being EVERYONE who fights Ali is a mismatch...lmao I doubt that punch did much tbh. Hearns was still developing at that time and very much smaller( yes it shows why weight classes were made too) ...it also shows how HWs' started to box better,bc there were many tall jabbers AFTER Ali came on the scene with good movement too..Hearns in that vid was like a miniature Holmes.
