REZ, Didn't he dump Veronica too,,,,,,,,,,, Look the guy did fantastic things, but you are looked at as a 'whole', not 'sum of the parts'. If you feel sorry for him,,,,,,yes thats understandable,,,,,
And that's a key point to make. From the time his career as a boxer ended till the present, Ali's generally done more good than harm. And regardless of what he might have said or done during his youth, that's something that needs to be acknowledged.
Ali's been retired for 28 years, and what he's done since then (charity work, long-term commitment to his final wife, showing maturity, grace and humor while dealing with Parkinson's Syndrome) should be taken into the "whole". Seems like you're the one focusing upon one specific part (i.e. his behavior as a boxer).
The problem with being a one-trick pony like the OP is, it limits you so much. With all your posts (or a great part of them) spewing stuff like this, it becomes impossible in time for anyone to think of that person as anything but a troll. Oh well.
Yes, Yolonda 'Lonnie' is a beautiful person, and together they do great work, to the benefit of others who are less fortunate. It's a little sad, when you look back at the way a Cassius Clay treated an older man Archie Moore, and have a lasting impression of that fight scene. A younger, faster, stronger person, taunting a weaker figure. For what, a few laughs.
He is no longer Tyson Hook. Foreman Hook has a certain comedic charm about him. Alexvoce is just an utter, utter knob.
Exactly And the person I know who has been a very close friend with him since 81 has said that he has never flirted with women or anything of that nature since he known him. He is an excellent family man. And with the Archie Moore situation, you just don't know what deeper layers could be to the story. You maybe know where Person A and Person B were together during Time X, but you werent actually there to experience to conversations and the tones of them, between the two parties. Duce I dont ignore his faults. I just acknowledge the fact that HE HIMSELF acknowledges those were faults. It's almost as if you like him less for admitting his wrongs. Because you can't even sit here and acknowledge the fact that he has admitted and expressed remorse for a lot of the things you have mentioned. You've made a mental decision to ignore his growth as a human. You need to open your mind a little more man.
I strongly disagree. You forgot the word hate-filled. The guy even refers to him as Clay deliberately yet the same guy idolised Tyson, who i dont mind myself, but has a lot more questionable morals than clay-sorry-Ali
Haha, complete ball****. Ali did whatever best served him at any given moment in time. I don't disagree with him on the nam issue, i wouldn't have fought in vietnam either. Fact is as stated that he didn't mind being all friendly with the Marcos regime, hence his hypocrisy. He was a complete ****ing waste of oxygen as a person if truth be known, regardless of how great a fighter he was.
I do believe if he went to Vietnam,,,,,,,the VC would have called him alot worse. I wonder, don't you think if Muhammad Ali had to fight a Vietnamese fighter in the ring, he would be polite and cordial,,,, or would he berate him and insult him like other fighters.
Exactly nail on the head it's hypocrisy. People calling me a **** for debating well whatever Frazier was and is 10times the man clay was/is. It's just a joke the stuff he was coming out with to fraizer can u imagine if Frazier came out with slagging of Ali being a Muslim or if Tyson abused someone like that they would be outcasts and known for being infamous not this **** vile media stuff coming out lovely person etc. Clay was middle-class watch the documentary one nation divisible.
