Fine. Ali almost had an early career loss when he was clowning. Here's the thing though. that smelling salt ****, is just a MYTH. He only had a few more seconds of rest. And then he stopped Cooper. Then he had a rematch and proved that knockdown was a FLUKE.. it could happen to anybody. At least Ali went on to get the win, wlad got totally destroyed by sanders, nothing controversial about it. Anything can happen to an inexperienced fighter.. but Ali STILL came back.. so yeah.. He got knocked down.. so?
oookay, since you're obviously too much of a simpleton to get the jist of what im trying to get at, im saying he's taken shots from the most murderous punchers the division has even seen and has risen victorious. so if you're trying to question ali's chin with a flash knockdown so early in his career DESPITE of the fact he's taken the best shots from the best punchers, what exactly are you trying to get at? whats not to understand about that? but i also have to consider the fact that you are pretty "special", that is if you can pick up the double meaning.
Both Foreman and Liston were Brutal and both would go down as possibly the most powerfull Heavyweights we have ever seen, and to tell you the truth Ali toyed with them,His Ropadope tactics against the monster Foreman had to be seen to be believed.!!!!! Mahunga
Nothing you write will erase that night, Henry Cooper, a blown up LHW, knocked Ali senseless, his corner used illegal tactics to save him from a certain KO. Yes he took flush shots from Frazier, but this has nothing to do with the Cooper fight, I never brought Ali's chin into question, just the ridiculous idea that Ali was some sort of boxing Jesus.
nobody but you considers him a "boxing jesus" (whatever the hell that is), you're just simply nitpicking at a knockdown that happened so early in ali's career and carry that as some type of evidence ali is overrated. it does nothing to support you ridiculous nor does it prove a that ali was overrated, his accomplishments as a HW champion greatly outweigh the fact he was knocked down early in his career. yet at the same time you defend wlad getting starched by the epitome of a journeyman bum in ross purrity all the while getting knocked out by an ex golfer in corrie sanders in less then two rounds. neither of these losses were avenged and still hang over his head to this day, yet ali in his prime avenged his losses and rematched anyone who wanted it.
Why is Wlad Klitschko getting brought up here? Should we talk about prime Tyson getting destroyed by Buster Douglas and not avenging that loss too? I think Ali is a great fighter but not as great as people now make him out to be. I'm not talking about Tim Witherspoon or Sonny Liston either, in case you bring them up, I'm talking about Ali.
and yet you still haven't said anything to make me think otherwise, all you've said is "ali was knocked down by henry cooper, he's overrated". seriously man, is that ALL you have to offer? so let me ask you, AGAIN, what other HW has come close to accomplsighing what ali accomplished? you can dance around the topic as much as you want, ive got all night man.:good
Ali was a freak. What a joke this thread is, this Pek Pek character is by far the worst poster on esb, they really should stop posting as they know nothing about boxing.
I finally agree with someone whose name has a FLO in it. :hey Like MasterFlo I have Ali in my top ten...but far from being the greatest. His mouth made him bigger than life for media to make a good story of him. :good Now guys I noticed Ali was using small gloves? Take a look at the pics of Ali Avatars here. :huh Now my question is.... if he was using small gloves for a heavyweight that he is......and his KO rate was way lower than Congressmanny who belongs to the lower weights whose NOT supposed to KO his opponents as boxing history will tell you. And he even uses pillow padded gloves but demolishes his opponents left and right... Does this mean that Congressmanny is really P4P ALL TIME aeons ahead of Ali??? Think about it :bbb
Ali was lucky to get a "victory" against Norton in the rematch, how Ali couldn't crack that guy's chin I'll never know. The greatest of all time should've had him out in 1 like Cooney did.
oh wow, so you go from a green inexperienced ali getting knocked down by cooper to an ali on the decline of his career post ali-frazier trilogy?? just go to bed man, you couldn't make a single good point even if you were threatened too.
