Norton beat the **** out of him twice.....but only got one decision. His resume is flawed. He was only 38 by the way when he fought Holmes. Foreman fought and won way past that. Ali number 2 and Holmes number 1. Period........

Except Ali had early symptoms of parkinsons syndrome and was immobilised by the thyrolar he'd been ignorantly prescribed. It was like a corpse in the ring.

Michael Spinks beat the **** out of Larry. The same LHW that fell to Mike Tyson in a matter of seconds.

Holmes couldn't carry Ali's jockstrap. Period.

Against Banks, Cooper and Frazier. All the time? How many of those were in his prime? None? Oh okay.

How about Larry? Close to being KO'd by Mr. Shavers in 1978 (?). Prime! :rofl

No, Ali was green. 19th pro fight, 21 years old. A prime Ali was post-Liston, pre-comeback.

And no, Holmes went down. He got back up, just like Ali did.

Ah yes, you clearly like Ali don't you.

No, logic and objectivity makes us decide who the greatest HW is. Such top-end quality with unmatched depth on someone's resume, plus masterful visual performances, it's hard to argue otherwise. And guess what, the "arsehole" - who was merely standing by his beliefs, but that's another issue - sacrificed his prime because of that decision.

P.S. Spinks was the light-heavy, not Holmes. Do you really know anything about boxing? Or are you just a noob poser who wants attention? I remember when I was the same, but you'll learn in time, just as I did.

Holmes was old when he fought Tyson, and Ali wasn't old when he fought Holmes?

    Right :patsch

It's easy to say Cooper was a bum or whatever but he was actually a pretty good fighter and he hit HARD with that left hook, not many people got up from it to beat him that's for sure.

I suggest you read Thomas Hausers book about Ali. Holmes apparently made the mistake of saying that he thought Ali was slipping because he handled him pretty easily in sparring (Ali hardly ever beat up his sparring partners like Tyson or Foreman did)

The comment got back to Ali and apparently he beat up Holmes so bad the next day Holmes was in tears in the ring. Read the book, you might learn something :deal
