ahhhh the real reason behind this post has surfaced....

Ali didnt want to go and die in vietnam, and i dont ****ing blame him. Last time i checked he was proved right to disagree with the war..wasnt he? or am i missing something.

If you have a political agenda, just say it at the beginning instead of all this ****ing bollocks about Holmes being better than ali. Listen to yourself for ****s sake man.

Ummm...when you do possible opponents that would have the best chance to beat Ali, Holmes shouldn't be on the first few names...

Well, Hatton over Leonard is unacceptable stupidity of the highest order.

Holmes over Ali is only based on the possiblity that at his peak Holmes was a better fighter (To me Holmes never looked as good as Ali did against Williams), when you look at the fighters each man beat it becomes very obvious who the greater fighter is though.

Holmes over Ali is not flat-out stupid like Hatton over Leonard, but it still doesn't have much of a case.

even Ali has mentioned SRR as the GOAT. yes cooper had him in trouble every fighter gets in trouble. even if dundee wasn't involved in that fight Ali still takes cooper and Ali can be up there with SRR as the GOAT as well dead even. how many killers and atg's has Ali beaten? with all due respect to the klits how many atg's have they beaten, even tho it's not their fault, but the fact is 0. good day

What a quick reversal of your stance! First you "like" Ali, but then when the going gets tough, you expose your true feelings and attack his actions that resulted from religious beliefs and opposition to what most sane and balanced people reflect on as an unjust conflict. Ali should be credited for his ability to see the transparency in the propaganda that attempted to justify Vietnam. Not only that, but it was a stance that effectively ended his boxing career (unknown to him that he would return), hence why he's perceived as a civil rights figure amid the largest civil rights movement in American history. Perhaps that's why all but right-wing nutjobs admire Ali.

And yes, having lots of posts certainly doesn't automatically give me knowledge. But after reading thousands of articles, watching thousands of fights, and being involved in the sport a bit myself (not to the extend you claim to be though), as well as being extremely intelligent (and modest), I consider myself quite knowledgeable about the sport. You might be good at "teaching" the sport, as you claim, but unfortunately you're proving to everyone that you're clueless about the history of the sport. Either that, or your personal/political agenda prevents you from conceding what you know deep down.

Ali annihilated Cooper approximately 1 minute and 16 seconds after that left hook landed. There was the mandatory one-minute break between rounds, the four seconds he took to get up, and the 12 seconds gained by the split glove. Round 5 was brutal, one of the most spectacular recoveries you will ever see from a fighter given the punch he'd been hit with. Cooper had a sledgehammer left hook, but Ali got up, and destroyed him. Tore his face to pieces.

I can't help by laugh at your pathetic patriotic rampage, specifically the mention of Obama. I do hope that he wins the election, but just so you know, I'm not American. And I don't thank God for anything, given that I'm agnostic (actually, these days I'm just an atheist, my agnostic days are behind me). I don't delude myself with fairytales designed to comfort the masses, and I certainly don't thank the Marines for keeping me safe, given that I don't live in America, and am well aware of the manipulation of the truth that American administrations continually does in order to terrorise the world into believing they're at much greater risk than reality. The media doesn't help the cause, continually exaggerating the likelihood of terror attacks when far more pertinent and immediate risks are being ignored. But you continue to believe what you're deliberately spoon fed.

Ignorance is bliss, it's the most accurate statement you'll ever hear. And you're the paradigm of the statement.

P.S. My avatar is Australian Rules Football. Yet more ignorance from a sheltered American who can't comprehend anything outside his own borders. Go **** yourself, redneck. :good

Wow the Marines must be a right bunch of soft ****s if a thick ****er like you was their 3rd best fighter at 175...here's me thinking that boxing required intelligence

Still irritates you that a black guy had the intelligence to see what a pile of **** the Vietnam war was, and ******ed white people went over there to get shot under the pretence of defending their country, right? How sad.

I'm sure Ali gives a **** about your opinion while he sits in his huge mansion counting his money :yep

just like pete rose isn't in the hall of fame. a man that won't fight for his country can't be the GOAT anyway. Not my agenda no. but obviously you never served this great nation.

We didn't need you to save us, Russia did the job well enough. In typical American fashion you lot ignored evil fascism until it actually affected you directly. Make no mistake, we'd have beaten the **** out of Germany without your so-called help :deal
