Mayweather is good and he's my favorite today ,but Ali is what made boxing today. I never thought of losing, but now that it's happened, the only thing is to do it right. That's my obligation to all the people who believe in me. We all have to take defeats in life. I had to beat Tarzans behind first, For claiming to be King of the Jungle. For this fight, Ive wrestled with alligators, Ive tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning And throw thunder in jail. You know Im bad. just last week, I murdered a rock, Injured a stone, Hospitalized a brick. Im so mean, I make medicine sick. Im so fast, man, I can run through a hurricane and don't get wet. When George Foreman meets me, Hell pay his debt. I can drown the drink of water, and kill a dead tree. Ali (AKA Cassius Marcellus Clay) was the fighter who made me a boxing fan. I was just a little kid, and a big fan of the heel wrestlers of the day. Guys like Tough Tony Borne and the great Dutch Savage were my idols. When I heard Ali talk I liked him instantly because he reminded me of the wrestlers I idolized. Back then little boys thought rasslin' was real. I had no idea that Ali was also a big pro wrestling fan, or that he took his interview style directly from the heel wrestlers of the day. I picked Clay over Liston, and argued vehemently over it on the school bus and the play ground. My pick had nothing to do with boxing knowledge. It was based entirely on the fact that Ali talked better and tougher than Tough Tony Borne, and anybody with any sense at all knew that Tough Tony was the baddest man in the world. Those were the days.
Floyd Mayweather is a genius in the ring. He had a better defense and counter punching skills than Ali. If you just look at skill and Talent its very close between Ali and Money. But Resume and what he did for the sport cant be compared. Overall Ali is alot higher on the ATG List because of his resume
