Cassius Clay of 1967 > all. Too fast, too tall. He would dance and pick apart these modern day slow and bulky heavyweights of the recent years. Big UD's over both lewis and Wlad. Lewis has a better chance than wlad though.

Your right I gotta learn the basics. Ali is overrated and gets KO'd by Wlad. That should have been the first thing I learned when I started watching boxing. Thank you.

Well, since none of those things actually took place in the ring, clearly they are irrelevant to this discussion.

Head to head I pick Ali from 67' as the favorite to beat any of the fighters mentioned on this thread: Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Klit Bros., Roy Jones, Sugar Ray Robinson, Salvador Sanchez, Marvin Haglar, and anyone else was mentioned. Ali beats them all.

You cant be serious! How many fighters today could deal with a prime Foreman, Frazier, Norton, or Liston?

This thread would've been completely harmless had it been titled "Ali not as good as I thought"

Instead we got this mess on our hands.

quality post, boasting of watching boxing for 30 years and showing an opinion that would be indicative of someone new to the sport isn't much to be proud of, let alone arrogant about.

Wlad is horribly over rated, you're picking on an ATG who's proven himself fight after fight through thick and thin against a chump who's parades around the shittest heavyweight division in history and has already been knocked the **** out by totally average journeymen while in his prime? Hell, he went life and death with Sam Peter, who lets face it, is utter garbage, lets not even go down the Sanders, Brewster and the super slick power punching phenom that is Ross Puritty.

Wlad cant outbox Ali, he certainly cant out slug Ali who in his prime delivered fast, hard and accurate punches and could put people away when he hurt them... and he would hurt Wlad who wouldn't be able to go 12 hard rounds. Ali over rated... get the **** outta here :nut

Hey dickhead? Your the one saying Ali doesn't have the style to beat Wlad  When he has the perfect style to beat him. Not getting too deep into it. Ali has a granite chin (Point 1) Wlad needs to set his offense up off the jab, and Ali has 100Xs better footwork and faster feet, so he has the tools to prevent him from getting set (Point 2) Ali has faster hands, and was very accurate with his right hand (Point 3) In case you don't know, Brut Power isn't the most important thing in knocking somebody out, its speed, timing and accuracy which is why Ali KO'd a prime Foreman when nobody else could even knock the ****ing guy down almost 20 years later. You know ol' feather fist stopped Liston twice also don't you????

If you've really been following boxing for 30 years you would see the generations of fighters and the landscape of the division switch with the times. How is it that you miss such obvious facts. Foreman was knocked the **** out in his prime, at his best by a past his prime Ali. Foreman then came back almost 20 years later and knocked out Michael Moorer for the title. Moorer beat Holyfield who gave Lewis a tough fight twice, and is recognized as one of the top 3 heavyweights of our era. Yet Ali was overrated and couldn't compete with the guys of the past 10-20 years????

He may not look pretty in there at times, alot of holding and appeared lazy at times. But what he did worked, and he has the best resume of any other heavyweight in the history of the sport. Him KOing Foreman is still one of the greatest moments in sports history. He beat Joe Frazier twice, Liston twice, Foreman and so on.

You shoulda known this thread was trouble when you thought to make it :deal
