Our resident Malawian gatekeeper at 168/175 Mr. Isaac Chilemba (26-7-3 10 KOs) is doing the rounds on the Russian circuit again with a quick turnaround after his upset draw against Fedor Chudinov is an impressive and career revitalising effort. This time he's being used as a hopeful step up to the big time for the upcoming prospect Ali Izmailov (5-0 3 KOs), himself coming off of a great late round knockout victory over former top 10 ranked cruiserweight Ruslan Fayfer in what was a one-sided affair. The performance highlighted the potential of this fighter becoming a champion as very high as no one has outboxed and beaten down the usually tough and awkward operator like this ever before. He enters yet another great acid test in his burgeoning career, clearly being fast tracked to a possible mandatory position at 175lbs. Chilemba fought well against Chudinov so this should be a good measuring stick for Izmailov. If Izmailov wins he will probably be in some final eliminator next.
He was very impressive against Fayfer who's already an incredibly tricky foe, Chilemba is the exact same in that respect. I could imagine if he seems to have a handle on awkward fighters like that he could repeat his dominance and establish himself as a guy to watch in the division.
Wtf, how do you already have your next assignment booked on Thursday when you literally fought last weekend? Boy was sat by the phone and pounced on that first ring.
