Was just watching this clip this morning and in the beginning of Round 11 it looks like this slip could have been counted as a knock down.

Their feet may have tangled a bit but Frazier hit Ali with a monster left hook right before. (1:10) Discuss.

100% slip. 3.16 is when he really hurt him.

I take it back, after looking at it in slow mo. As fast as Frazier through that left, Ali turned his head with the punch. Amazing.

Round 11 is a 10-8 round for Frazier. No knockdown, the ropes held Ali up and Frazier hurt him badly.

No matter how many times I see this,I rule it as a slip.

I had it a knockdown. If a fighter goes down on at the end of a punch whether he slips as well, or is off balance, the referee is supposed to call a KD.

Ali actually throws a punch after and in retaliation to the punch he is hit with. He is also in the process of turning to face Fraziers new position. The punch had nothing to do with him going down for mine. It could have missed his chin by a whisker and the dynamics would have still seen him fall afterward.

It's amazing that in both fight one and three round 11 was an extremely pivotal round.

In fight one Joe had Ali near to a stoppage. If Joe had a right hand the fight may have been over in that round.

Fast forward to 1975 and once again Joe has Ali out on his feet from a short left hook that unless you watch for it you won't realize its effect. The announcer at ringside does not mention it but you see Ali just stop after that punch and Joe tees off on him punch after punch. Looks like Ali is spent and done for. Miraculously Ali grabs and holds Joe for ten seconds and comes out of the clinch with both hands out of nowhere landing one right lead after another. It was the turning point in the fight.

Ali was great at adapting but he was clueless on how to avoid that left hook of Frazier's.....

Maybe it's just an illusion because in his previous incarnation before the three year hiatus, most of his fight films were in black and white but with the improved quality and obviously the color of the film, Ali just looks so much bigger and thick set in the body than he did previously.

Most of today's fighters would collapse at the thought of having to go 15 rounds.
