Ali is enequalled in the history of trash talk. Haye is like Mayweather Jr.. They trash talk but it's not the same thing. Ali was brilliant in his wit, and made the press fall over on their sides laughing at every conference. There really has been no one so charismatic as Ali, even the haters tuned in to see what crazy **** he would say next. Definately the greatest of all time in terms of entertainment. Now, all you bow down!!!!

He was entertaining, but you got it right about why the media loved him, it was all about how he criticized the war. You got it right. The media used him for politics.

Frazier was a friend of Nixon's, so the media didn't like Frazier, and was rooting for Ali. But, when Frazier floored Ali, "Boom!", loved it. The media was left with a fallen hero of theirs. There is a famous photo of Nixon and Frazier after that fight, in the oval office laughing and chumming it up.

Frazier beating Ali is my favorite fight of all time. I saw it live close circuit in a movie theatre downtown, I will never forget it. Cost me $10.00 bucks.

 

I hate to break it to you brits...but Haye is a complete cornball. Sorry.
