True. But one judge had it even and another had Lyle just a point ahead. Both quite awful scorecards if we're honest.
I can't remember the even round, but I think it was one I was going to give to Norton if anything. Norton deserved the win. Never been any doubt in my mind. He controlled the tempo for the most part and his punches were more solid. A fair few had Norton winning too...including some of Ali's camp. :good
Having hated Clay since Moore. It took me a number of decades and a lot of watching the 12 round to give that round in the end to Ali. I'd thought Noron won when I watched it on AFN.
do you remeber the time when ali hit him with 3 right leads with no answer from norton :bbb ,, do you remeber when he danced around him and norton never made a punch ? may be you are impressed with norton screaming at ali ,, you cant win a fight by screaming !! norton had to be more impressive if he wanted the title that night but in that fight the winner wasnot clear but you can say that ali had a small edge over norton
Yeah, Ali won that round. :good He won that round too. :hey Oh do shut up you bore. You said yourself it was really hard to score, now you're just licking Ali's ****. Many a good judge had Norton the winner. Ali himself thought he'd lost immediately after the fight.
I had Norton winning at least two of 'em. The first fight he took clearly, the rematch I scored it in Norton's favour by a single round (I can understand those who had a draw). Ali took the third fight by a margin of two points, I think- his late surge being enough. Still, Norton won the series 2-1 in my eyes. Two of the fights were real close.
2-1 here too. I 115-113. Mandingo. II 115-114. Brother of bloke beaten by Danny McAlinden. III 144-142. Sir Kenneth of Norton.
i know it was hard to score but you cant sat that kenny was the winner that night unless you lick his **** , you are not better than arthur mercantewho was thethird man in the ring
Thads kind of a pig. I always remind people who think Ken clearly won the fight of the Wide World of Sports panel of experts which viewed and scored the fight collectively round by round several weeks after the fight. They scored it a draw to Kennys suprise as these were all respected boxing men. I had it a draw going into the last round and Ken gave the fifteenth to Ali, and with it the the title and decision. Nuff said folks.
