So we have a couple of the biggest names ever in heavy weight boxing in there last ever fight s. Tyson who was knocked out by Danny Williams in his last match in a dare I say bit of a upset!. In his last fight ali was pulled out at the end of the tenth against another legend Larry holmes. So who wins this battle of faded over the hill former champ s? As Ali got enough left to beat iron or would he end up a ko victim?

I would say Ali of the Berbick fight, simply because he would persist in fighting back.

I think if u look back last few years most of the threads have been one way or another repeated. I was looking back at some old post and found 3 straight away that were done last week. How can someone judge if a thread been done before with out scrolling back years. U your self have probably done it. And new posters may not have seen some of the old questions and theories. We've not all been on here years,!

Tyson was a cur, Ali was gamer. Ali wins on heart alone.

One thing u can definitely say is that both men at this stage knew this was end of the road. There would be no one last fight. Especially in tyson_mcbride. Tyson s face when Kevin shoved him to the floor. He was looking to the ref to help him up!? Ali was just happy to go the distance, which is quite sad.

I think that you also have to look at who they were in against.

Berbick was legitimately world class, while McBride wasn’t, and Williams probably wasn’t.

That's true. Of course berbick had given holmes a good fight then go on to beat pinklon. Mcbride and William S went on to be knocked out.

    This has been done before.

It comes down to who was the most shot, and how that affected his style.

Ali was the most shot, and given that his style depended on speed, skill and movement, he was the worst affected.

Tyson was also way shot, but he always had his power and chin.

Mike would win in a match that would make boxing fans cry to see what their heroes had become.

    Berbick >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> McBride

Berbick also beat prime Tate, Page and Thomas. Not a bad list of wins. Won WBC HW title.

McBride beat no one besides Tyson. Was KO'd by Shulz and Murray. Never was close to top-20.

And Ali did better vs FAR better opponent than Tyson vs McBride.

Ok so general opinion is tyson s last opponents were absolutely crap! Lol but who in the division at that time would have been a berbick version for tyson to take on. Who was the toughest fighter in 03 who tyson could have fought and maybe just maybe beat, even at that stage of his career?

These are the end of year rankings for 05.

Given his showing against McBride, I doubt that he would have beaten any of these fighters.

Definitely not in my opinion. Toney would probably have given him a holy field style beating , Bryd a easy unanimous point win.... And I say that with not a lot of confidence that it would go ten, rahman and brewster could blow him out in a couple of rounds,Peter would hammer him and rag him about and wlad would give him a long beat down
