Bowe Tyson Moorer Holmes Foreman Qawi Thomas Dokes Mercer Botha Ruiz or Foreman Frazier Norton Patterson Liston Young Lyle Shavers Spinks Williams Chuvalo Ellis
By resume, do you mean simply how many good fighters they each faced? Or do you mean how many good fighters they BEAT?
Now that I have time, my detailed answer is.... If we compare their best wins, it has to go to Ali. Having Norton x2, Frazier x2, Liston x2, Patterson x2, and Foreman already trumps id say almost every single heavyweight resume, and thats ONLY the top of it, when we include Quarry x2, Lyle, Young, Foster, Bugner, etc.. just doesn't give Holyfield a chance at all imo. This is to not discredit Holyfield, his wins over Bowe and Tyson x2 are legendary by themselves.
As much as I love Evander Holyfield, I think Muhammad Ali’s resume beats his by a fairly wide margin. Ali has a strong argument for the greatest heavyweight of all time with only Joe Louis rivaling him for that spot. I personally have them tied
Qawi was at CW and the win over Botha means about as much as Holmes second win over Weaver. Remove them and add Stewart, Rahman and Douglas instead. As for Ali you should add quite a few 60's wins: Moore, Cooper, Jones, Mildenberger, Folley and, especially, Terrell. As for the 70's: MacFoster was a decent one as well and Lewis was a fringe contender. And Bonavena and Bugner should be added. Solid contenders. I'm surprised that there even are votes for Holy. I mean h2h you can always argue more or less any way you want, but resume is a no contest between these two.
I'd rather have young George Foreman for one of my wins than old Foreman. Was anyone actually impressed by him beating a 42 year old? He beat a worn out Tyson but generally, lost to too many up and comers. The heavyweights are just too big for him
