Provodnikov got hit with some punches in bunches clean but he obviously DGAF about the wee man's power, just completely disrespecting him and doing some damage on the body. Clear he is going with the "kill the body and the head will die" strategy to slow him down and finish him later.

    Round 3

Provodnikov is looping rights into the body and keeping his (relatively) educated jab in Bagautinov's face. Right hooks and left hands strung together desperately as Bagautinov tries buying himself a moment's respite. Bagautinov nervously switching his stance with every few steps. They exchange punches by the ropes and Bagautinov lands three light taps on Provodnikov's nose, getting zero reaction, only to get rocked and made to flee by a stiff Provodnikov jab.

    10-9 Provodnikov, close

    30-27 Provodnikov

As they returned from brief commercial break they showed a highlight package that basically scrounged up every instance of Bagautinov connecting in R3, showing him looking disproportionately successful compared to Provodnikov.

    Round 4

Provodnikov is mouth-breathing now as he cuts the ring off intently, getting tied up every time he nearly has Bagautinov on the ropes. Bagautinov catching some of Provodnikov's attempted liver shots and looping rights on his lowered elbows, then shoe-shining into Provodnikov's face and clinching to stall the action. Bagautinov goes orthodox and starts popping a left jab playing keepaway down the stretch, with Provodnikov looking a bit too weary to chase him down with must gusto anymore.

    10-9 Bagautinov

    39-37 Provodnikov

    Round 5

Provodnikov rips a couple of hard left hooks upstairs that, although partially blocked, send Bagautinov reeling nearly into a sideways faceplant. Provodnikov keeps at him, thumping on the body with pinball-paddle uppercuts. Bagautinov tries clinching but Provodnikov shrugs him off, too strong. Bagautinov jabs into the guard to freeze Provodnikov, then bends over to his own right and slashes at the waistband of Provodnikov with right hooks. Provodnikov is literally running at Bagautinov now, still with a mocking smile, inviting him to stand and trade while lobbing jabs & rights at him, and then shoulder-tackling him in the chest to bump him on his heels and prevent a clinch. There was a foul in the scrum inside, missed what it was, but no point taken. Provodnikov jabbing the head of Bagautinov, who ducks and then shoots up to grab him in a clinch. Bagautinov lands a nice two-piece just before the final horn. They collapse in an embrace.

    10-9 Provodnikov

    49-46 Provodnikov

Wouldn't say he disgraced himself. For over half a decade of rust he looked decent.

Imagine giving the MMA flyweight three rounds of that fight. :shakehead:

Seriously hope that one clown isn't a pro boxing judge.

    Indeed.

Just fought his butt off. The only thing he could have improved on in the performance would've been kayoing Bagautinov, except the little bugger was intent on running and holding for dear life.

Unclear. It was 5 rounds, which is generally used for exhibitions (and MMA fights, which...this is under the banner of an MMA promotion), but they had judges' scorecards and gave a verdict and Provodnikov was clearly trying for a KO, so...not an exhibition?

I guess a weird semi-pro thing, mightn't count on their records but was a "real fight", if that makes any sense.
