Yeah, it was another in a long line of questionable decisions Ali got post-Foreman which enabled him to stay as champion.

IMO, Norton and Shavers both beat him clearly. I thought Young might've edged him, but it was a much closer and uglier fight IMO, and Young was actually given a gift in the sense that he should've been DQ'd.

    The real scoring:
    ~ referee: Johnny LoBianco 5-9 | judge: Eva Shain 6-9 | judge: Tony Castellano 6-9 ~
    ~ WBC heavyweight title ~
~ WBA World heavyweight title ~
Eva Shain becomes the first woman to judge a World Heavyweight Championship fight.

Shavers trying to outbox a master boxer.

As much as I wanted Shavers to win, he was probably a round short.

As far as I'm concerned, he only watched about 6 or 7 of them.

But I think Longhorn's post was cut and pasted from boxrec, which sometimes doesn't include even rounds when it lists scorecards. So LoBianco's card was actually 9-5-1 for Ali.

Personally, I think those margins of scoring were all accurate, but they announced the wrong winner.

shavers fight was scored live as they were fighting. ali was way ahead by round 11 - no wonder he could ease off if he wanted cuz he woulda been updated that he was way ahead on the scored cards. go figure.........

Your only contribution to this forum since you've posted is chugging Ali's hampton. Surely you must be bored now of typing the same words over and over again, surely?

You don't even know the relevance of the t-shirt, bonehead.

Meanwhile, tell me this, do you wake up every day and say "I want to post on a forum and talk about Muhammad Ali only today"?

Good point. Dundee had an assistant relaying him the score after each round.

So not only was Ali getting a gift, but he knew it in advance.

Ali shouldn't have even been fighting at this point. He was competitive with Shavers and Young when he was essentially a shot item. Impressive.
