    The one I'm talking about?

Towards the end of his career his condition was becoming known in some circles. Medical reports were supressed by King, among other people, to make a few dollars more.

I think I've heard a story regarding that in passing over the years. Supposedly, before the condition became as bad as it eventually would, he was on some pretty potent medication. This medication almost had him, for a period of time, out of the slow, degraded speech that he displayed in the 80's.

Supposedly he remarked something like "What in the hell is this stuff?". Something that had some kind of serious affect on the chemistry going on in his brain, if only for a short period of time.

Obviously no fix anything solvent but something potent was used for the man at one point that almost brought the old Ali back in his ability to verbalize what he was thinking, or so I'm hearing. Not suprising some of the medical experts that must of been brought in.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I remember Ali thinking about some experimental type brain surgery, but decided against it.

Well if they wanted a guinea pig they should have used Tony Ayala.

I just find the idea of Ali snapping out of the slow, reserved slurred speech that was present even in the early 80's for short periods of time scary, frankly.

Imagine being able to verbalize what you're thinking at the speed you're capable of for the first time in years?
