    I'll have to review Manila for his punch volume in that one, but he told Howard Cosell in 1967 while reviewing Terrell that punching wore him down, so he used his legs to conserve his arms. The impression I got was that if you'd told him then what his punch volume would be for a fight in September 1975, he might've laughed and told you that you were nuts.

    CompuBox (very far from an accurate metric for the records they purport to keep, and utterly useless for scoring bouts accurately) records as unloading 205 jabs and 712 power shots for a total of 917 over 14 rounds (outworking the hustling Frazier by 243 shots).

    Obviously, a review of Ali's punch volume for the entirety of Chuvalo I is in order. In the round where Muhammad dropped Patterson to a knee however, Ali went for the kill, unloading 93 shots (I counted them years ago) then backed off and paced to avoid gassing.
