There was this really **** movie called "the greatest" in the 70's where Ali played himself, even the younger him. It was really bad due to how old he looked.
thanks cj...I adore that film...anthony quinn was superb as was mickey rooney...one of rooneys best roles for me....also...that first person view of the opening scene was so original for the time and worked so well.......I have a flyer for it on my shed wall ....I have searched for years to get a print of that mountain riveria v cassius clay poster in the film but I think its impossible...I'd love that poster framed
the original. ..with jack palance...is an exceptional good version of it too.....amazing how two actors just nailed the same role. between both films a who's who of boxers as extras were used.
Ali would have done good in a Blazing Saddles type movie. He probably could have had a hell of a movie career, but then who knows maybe he wouldnt have accomplish as much in the ring
