Ali wasn't invincible but could Foreman win a rematch? I don't think Foreman would fall for the rope-a-dope again. However he is very limited and would have no choice but to "swing for the fences", and Ali has a great chin. However Fraizer who dose not hit as hard as Foreman was able to knock Ali down. To win Foreman would have to refuse to fallow Ali to the ropes and pace himself. Hope that he can land a big punch tht sends Ali to the canvis. Doing this will make Ali look like the more agresive boxer and posibily buiser puncher. Not a good way to impress the judges. Short of a stopage I don't see how Foreman wins.
Foreman was one of the hardest punchers in history (along with J. Jackson).... i don't see how a 33 year old Ali could win this fight. Even if Ali is blocking most of the punches... Foreman would still crack bones and rattle Ali (just like he did in the first fight)..... Its amazing that out of 35+ posts to this thread, that only 4 or 5 people picked Foreman. The Rumble in the Jungle was kind of like SuperBowl XLII. The Patriots were the better team, but blew the game. The Giants stepped up bigtime and won the game (to my everlasting glory!)
Ali was able to get better as a result of experience. Foreman was able to do that in his last incarnation, but at the time of the RIJ he did not show that character trait. He didn't need to, he was in his prime. He showed it later when he needed it. Can't see George learning anything in that period which he could translate into victory.
