Just curious about your thoughts on jimmy sticking his head outside the ropes and avoiding to fight?

Never seen it in any other fight. Quite bizarre.

Ugh, he was clowning to the crowd, not trying to avoid the fight. Pissed Ali off a lot too.

It's a foul, just like Ali's frequent holding behind the head.

I don't think Young "wanted it enough" ,he was cleverly evasive in fights .but too negative at times ,I had little sympathy with him when he did not get the dec against a fat untrained Ali ,sticking your head through the ropes to avoid punches isnt exactly going to impress judges ,imo.

I'm sure you fault Ali for the complete sideshow his career.

Truly a travesty sticking your head outside of the ropes for 3 seconds compared to years of that carnival level ****.

Watching a Young fight can be hard, but he is very skilled and there's much to pick up on.

Sitting through fights like Ali/Dunn/Coopman/Evangelista/Wepner, etc, is something i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Ali's fights after Manilla were ****.

I told you ,jabbing yourself up makes you aggressive Charlie.

Ali deserved to get beat that night ,but not by Jimmy "Im too cautious for my trade" Young.
ps Aren't you the young lad who once described Young as a great fighter?:-(
ps, Don't you get tired of being out fought and out boxed by me ,you sucker? Dont worry I will let you out of my keep net soon.:hi:

    Yeah, spot on.

People's exposure to Young is usually frightenly limited, and Ali was a spoiler in his own right that made fights/fighters like bad. There's a reason no one particularly cares about Ali/Frazier II... Because Ali spoiled the damned fight.

Young/Norton was a great fight. That should be essential viewing before anyone comments on Young as a fighter.

Ali at 35 did fight Norton ,Young, and Shavers after Manilla, not too shabby as he was essentially finished as a great fighter, imo.

Well,Ive seen Young in 6 fights two of them from ringside ,and he was only ever in one entertaining fight that I saw,and I would not call the Norton one a great fight.

ali was the hottest boxer around in the 60's not to bad in the 70's either,so what if a few of his fights were dull and lackluster.maybe you should change sports my friend maybe ping pong would be more your style

Not saying it's Vasquez/Marquez but if every fight was as solid as Norton/Young I wouldn't complain.

Why so aggressive? I love boxing more than anything, but you have to be realistic and admit that Ali vs Dunn/Wepner/Evangelista/etc weren't exactly inspiring fights or ones that you'd rewatch on a rainy sunday.

We exchanged a lot of friendly PM's, then one thing i post and you act as if you're on your period. You have some anger issues mate.

Yes, great wins resume-wise especially considering his age, but let's be honest: as a fighter, Ali was done and the fights aren't all that good, even if he forgot about how Norton should've won and how the decision in the other two could've gone both ways had it not been Ali (though i had him winning the Shavers bout).
