Let me translate. "Personal insult, I know because it's my belief, personal insult". You have nothing substantive to contribute, let pugilist do the talking for you.

Liston started boxing in prison, and had a way more successful amateur career than Jennings. I'm not saying it's impossible to succeed in boxing despite starting late. If you have talent it's possible. But Jennings was a basketball player who turned to boxing because he wasn't good enough, and had a 13-4!! amateur career. Couldn't even win golden gloves. And he becomes a top 10 heavy?

    Both groups are insane.

Boxing is not just a sport, it's a combat sport based on a huge variety of factors.

Pitting one man against another calls for nothing less than a case by case assessment.

People can't always pick the older guy, otherwise we would never have a new champ because the more proven fighter would not lose.

People can't always pick the newer guy otherwise Foreman wouldn't have come back 20 years later to knock out the champion.

People can't ways pick the bigger guy otherwise Valuev would be the goat. People can't always pick the more skilled guy other wise Wilfredo Gomez would have been effective above 122 pounds.

Each and every fight should always be taken case by case. Subscribing to classicist or a modernist view point is ridiculous.

Every sport should be viewed in a vacuum. And if you think I'm focusing on minor points, then I really don't know what to tell you. If you think it's a minor point that Jennings started boxing late and had no amateur career in comparison to Alis lifelong pedigree in the sport, then there's no point to take this discussion any further. Have a good day.

You have not refuted any of my first post. None of it.

Translation? "Nonsensical personal insult". Again, nothing substantive to contribute. Let the big boys do the talking for you Dino. You're not suited to it.

So if you agree that every sport is unique, can't you see that there is something meaningful about the fact that all sports that have a tangible result have improved?

Thats the best you had to offer. The FACT he beat Ali renders any opinion on the matter null and void. Unless you are calling a win over Ali 'virtually nothing' .

You get destroyed in these threads over and over.

Only in Dino's sad, stupid little mind is dominating getting "destroyed". So let me translate for him again. "Personal insult, I'm right because it's my personal opinion, personal insult". Yet again, you fail to make a single, fact based poi t that doesn't rely entirely on your own warped perception.

I think that's an exaggeration, and a lot of those improved records are a result of external circumstances and changes in the sport itself rather than the quality of the athletes. I recommend watching this video.

    More jibberish.
How does Jennings beat Ali and how is he the same as Norton?

    Like top 10 Dillian Whyte?

This era is so great his fight last year against Chisora was called one of the best HW fights of recent years. A fight in which two blubbery , gassed out , neanderthals swung like drunken street fighters for 12 rounds. Whyte swung so widely he went head first out through the ropes on a number of occasions.
Those two guys are championship level right now. That fight was a title eliminator. Chisora has mixed it at top level for the last 6 years.
Ortiz is ranked #4 .. Whats he? the better modern day version of Foreman? :qmeparto::drooling:

Translation? "Personal insult, rhetorical question centered in personal opinion." Your just not good at this.
