Inoki tried shooting with Sammartino in a tag team affair. Bruno powered out of it, and Inoki ducked him throughout the rest of the match. Why the hell did Ali and his handlers happen to settle on HIM, of all people to try this with? As it happened, Sammartino saved that card with Stan Hansen at Shea, while Ali and Inoki bombed in other venues, so Bruno certainly defeated the GOAT at the gate that night.

Ali versus Sammartino probably would have been a good work. Bruno wouldn't have bothered trying to gain a cheap reputation at Muhammad's expense, as they were both already long since over, and they would have behaved themselves in an entertaining way. Instead, Muhammad got his legs ****ed up in a boring shoot.
