Ali was on the decline and ready to be beaten. Leon Spinks beat him with how many fights, yet Leon didn't have the power of Cooney. Cooney was not a great and he was overrated, but he had a heck of a left hook and a decent jab. He would landed it and probably stopped Ali and he would have forever been linked with the great Ali because Ali was old.

What topic do you look up? My brother in law talks about Rock and roll all the time. I like the topic, but i don't know if I could be on a forum. I have seen some great things on the Who on youtube. Interview of Kenny Jones and other things. Youtube is great for anything like that.

sweet, if they fought, and Cooney won, he would deserve the win over ali. You said ali was great, so cooney would get youre great win. If ali won, you would be saying how great he still was.. I do agree, he was deep in decline. And yes, youtube is great for classic musi, any music actually. There are comments too under the videos. I'll put on a music video into my headphones along with my bass to practice a song. Funny thing is on the right side will be a never ending row of other songs, interviews about other music. I'll see things I haven't seen in years, then I'm stuck all night looking at all that stuff, its addicting

Was going to recommend SteveHoffman but you beat me to it.

You think the debates get heated on here. I had an epic brawl with some jerk on there years ago about who was best songwriter in the Byrd's. The clear answer is Gene Clark whereas that idiot backed David Crosby (who in my opinion has the unique distinction of being the least talented member of the Byrd's, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Crosby,Stills, Nash and Young).

    Epic music nerd stuff.

Cooney's team wanted this fight. Ali turned down 1 million dollar offer for it. Not at the point in his career that you are mentioning it but i believe after the Holmes bout but before the Berbick bout. Smart move by Ali

The best thing is there are no dumb hypotheticals such as “who is greater: PRIME version of The Doors or 1967 Procol Harum”; “Who is sexier Joss Stone or Janis Joplin”; “or what name is cooler Mott the Hoople or Jethro Tull”.

I got a hypothetical fight, Prime Muhammad Ali, 1964-1967, vs Gentleman Gerry Cooney, 15 rounds, it would be like the butt kicking that Larry Holmes gave Cooney in 1982, don't get mad.
