Foreman KO in 10. Ali would be too slow, too hittable & George would have learnt from his mistakes in Zaire.

George would be a little too gun shy which would take the fight to the distance.

Ali wins a decision simply on guile and will and his granite chin, but gets beaten up along the way like against Shavers … and it easily could go the other way, horribly dangerous fight for him at this point.

Since we’re talking imaginary scenarios, though, put Foreman II’s brain inside Foreman I circa 1977’s skull and Ali doesn’t leave the ring vertically.

It's a hard scenario to envisage.

This. George leads on the cards going into the final 1/3 of the fight, but a late late rally by the judges secures Ali the title.

I think the only way a fighter isn't getting robbed vs Ali at this stage of his career would be, hmmm I dunno, maybe a 7-fight novice, who could likely easily be beaten in a rematch to create history... wait...I know one!!!!

This is really a tough call. I will say that George Foreman is concerned about his own stamina, Muhammad Ali is still standing at the end, and Muhammad Ali gets the decision win.

I still envisage this scenario. George's performance in the Young fight clinches it for me.

Ali was probably too old. Interestingly Big George saw Ali's performance against Shavers and said he wondered if he could beat that guy.

Ali. Foreman is not KO'ing him (doesn't even knock him down) and Ali KO's him again because Foreman would never have the stamina to last all 15 rounds vs Ali. Ali is a bad matchup for Foreman.

If George Foreman could not beat Jimmy Young despite his lame claims of the heat beating him, Muhammad Ali beats George Foreman again.

Do you have a source for Foreman claiming the heat beat him Rich? I'm unaware of him making any such comments but could be wrong.

George Foreman did make such claims after the fight saying that after the Heat Prostration that he saw God, other posters are using this excuse, watch the other posts buddy. I know that the climate was humid that March 17 1977 evening in San Juan Puerto Rico but as I posted George Foreman could have trained in the humidity as Jimmy Young did.

    You're not.....

Foreman never made such a comment (for the Young bout at least).

No Swag but he did say maybe My shoes were too big. The diagnoses by the physician at the hospital was that George Foreman did suffer Heat Prostration as a result of the extreme Humidity outdoors.
