Yes, conservatives, generally older whites definitely rooted for Frazier. And because of that, most would be backing Ali because of the cultural change he sort of symbolized (Vietnam, specifically). I guess I'm actually speaking more for the casuals, but I figure the generation was so much more behind Ali because the cultural & US government making him out to be a martyr.
No. He fell out with Malcolm after the Liston I fight. Malcolm was already on bad terms with the nation at that point and Elijah offered Clay the name Muhammad Ali if he officialy joins the nation and cuts off all ties with Malcom, which he did. It would be more accurate to say he was a puppet for the Nation seeing as how they kept him fighting and drained all of his money.
X2 - Ali talked way too much **** for me. I always prefer guys like Frazier or Foreman who just show up, blast their opponents out of there and go home like it's just another day at the office.
Frazier by far. Liked his attitude much more better but more importantly, i enjoy his fighting style much more.
If Ali was not one of my all time favorites, I would have cheered for Frazier.. Ali sure was a dick to him.
