I agree with you on all this...but I think it would clearly be Ali by a competive decsion..he was too big and slightly faster, but not as technically sound as Tunney.

Ali *****-smacks Tunney all over the ring for a late rd TKO......... Ali just too big and strong for Tunney.......... Tunney has no power to hurt Ali with, so Ali fears nothing against Tunney....... Ali would be in the odd role as the pressure fighter looking to attack Tunney by coming in and jabbing, which would set-up all the other punches he threw...... Tunney would punches galore.......

From the not-so-great footage of Tunney that Ive seen & by what Ive read about his style etc..... there is nothing Tunney had to beat Ali with, Ali was bigger, faster & would pick him apart from the outside.

Ali by clear 15 rd UD.

Ali was taller, heavier, longer reach, and was slightly quicker with his hands. Tunney was technicaly more sound, had better all around foot work, and, heres the key, was more patient. Both were great Ring Generals with Tunney having a slight edge here. Tunney would completely frustrate Ali with movement, defense, and counter punching. To the point to where Ali would have to fight off the front foot, begins to get frustrated, starts to press and make mistakes. Aggresion wasn't Ali's style. The question is, can Tunney do enough to overcome Ali's physical advantages. I'll still give Tunney a slight edge in this one.
