A lot you say here is reasonable, but if it's one thing I can't stand it's this bull**** about Tyson being 'fouled'. Even aside from the ear-biting and armbreaking, he was a very dirty fighter himself. Holyfield owned him in that fight, no "buts" and no "ifs", and he wasn't that far removed from his prime. He was in good physical shape and had looked very good against Bruno. Of course, he wasn't quite the fighter he was before going to jail, but he wasn't over the hill either.

What a joke. His 'fighting heart'? In the first fight, as soon as Tyson hit the deck in the 6th he gave up 'winning' the contest. The rematch he spat his dummy out because he wasn't the dirtiest fighter in the ring- for the first time in his career.

up to round 5 before the clash of heads (head butt)

watch this link. it shows the official judges score cards that he (tyson) was ahead going into round 6, round 6 is where it all happened (regardless of the knock down) thus making tyson the winner if the ref would of stopped it. . .

he might have given up "believing that he could win" but he never stopped coming forward and "TRYING" to win. even against douglas after taking the upper cut what would of took most guys head clean off, he still tried getting up, after taking a pummeling from lewis didnt he keep on coming forward and take alot of punishment from a fighter he knew he had no chance of beating? and isnt that what heart is all about?

tyson was never a dirty fighter, pre-don king, pre-prison, and how can you say such things like tyson is a dirty fighter when he was against some one much dirtier in holyfield?

besides this is a tyson v ali topic and as a tyson fan i can hold my hands up and say i think ali would of won, but would of been difficult for him (read my entire post)

Ali gives Tyson a humiliating beating, worse than what he did to Patterson.

Without making a lengthy analysis, I would just say that my pick is Ali - by clear decision in a bout which is well fought in the first half and one sided (mostly Ali) in the second.

I rate Tyson highly, particularly h2h, but this is the way I figure it would turn out if these two had might in their primes.

The Iron Mike nick name actually has nothing to do with Tyson's durability,or lack of it,it is a straight steal from jack Dempsey ,it was the nickname for his right hand ,you gotta do more research mate!

Buster Douglas wrote the template for beating Tyson and it would fall easily in to place for Ali,Tyson would be dangerous ,because he has handspeed nearly on a par with ALi imo.But as the fight goes on he would become frustrated ansd careless ,I think Ali might even drop him late on, Ali to take a dec.

the same floyd patterson that won olympic gold as a middle-weight fighting at a weight he wasnt a natural at? that same patterson.??

Ali beats tyson, not by alot, and depending if Ali looses concentration at any point in the 15 rounds he could find himself on his ass. ala henry cooper.

The cut has to be severe enough to stop the fight in the first place. What a feeble excuse for someone who clearly got pasted.

He was coming forward laboriously, yet still anticipating the punches that were being thrown. This is different from going all out and trying to win- and not knowing where and when the killer shot will come, the type that could easily bust a jaw or a cheekbone. Real heart, is when a fighter comes roaring back after getting a hammering, and is still desperate to be the victor at the end.

    Yes, FLOYD PATTERSON.
Ali would beat Tyson worse than he did Patterson.
Patterson lasted into the 12th round, all busted up. I see Tyson being busted up just as bad, more demoralized, and in less rounds.

I think that Tyson would be a significantly greater threat to Ali than Patterson, but it's worth noting that Patterson - who had much the same style as Tyson, but was somewhat faster - had a very hard time landing cleanly on Ali.

Ali would be deadly serious for this fight ala the "Rumble in the Jungle" with Foreman. A motivated Ali is a tall order for anyone to beat.

    Ali UD 15 Tyson
