Ali was not the greatest Boxer ever. Mayweather was.

I agree Mayweather is better than Ali. Ali is the most overrated boxer in history, more of a political symbol than anything else. Also, his form was extremely shaky towards the end of his life.

 

Neither are the best boxers in history. You could argue that neither crack the top ten.

There's no such thing really.. it's purely subjective & personal opinion. My favourite fighters are Duran, Marciano, Locche & Holyfield.. Arguing the toss over a silly label is asinine. Stop point scoring & just appreciate them for what they were in their day, because you'll never prove it one way or the other... but if I were to imagine Floyd in with the likes of a Hearns or a prime Oscar I dont think it ends well for him..

Neither one of them are the greatest boxer ever. Floyd ain't even top 20 IMO, although Ali definitely is. I will say that Floyd is very likely the most gym dedicated boxer in history however

 

Floyd's not even in the conversation for the greatest fighter ever as he is not even the greatest fighter from his own era.

 

The existence of Mike Tyson among others completely disproves your claim of Ali being the most overrated. The guy has the deepest resume in heavyweight boxing history, including the likes of Norton, Foreman, Liston, Lyle, Shavers, Patterson, Frazier. The take of him being overrated is really without merit and lacks any real substance.
