Wlad, Bowe, Lewis, Vitali... these fighters would present a new set of obstacles for fighters from the 60's, even Ali. It's a rare, but emerging, combination of athleticism, height, size and ability. No, not every beanpole makes a great heavy, but when the rare combination works out, it's a whole new puzzle.

That said, Ali, who I have met twice, was a big ****ing dude. I don't think he would have a huge problem adjust ing to this new mold of heavy (and yes, all the above are better than Terrell and Bugner). At least two generations after Ali tried to replicate his style (doing so largely without his abilities). But he was a once in a century talent.

Put a gun to my head and have me pick one heavy in history as being the closest to unbeatable in his prime.. and that heavy would be Ali.

Big means nothing. Boxing...hwt boxing....is a skill/speed/reflexes sport. I just told you the bigger hwts Ali beat easily....usually by ko. Smaller hwts could better match Ali in terms of speed. Wlad is big and painfully slow vs Ali. It would be terrible mismatch as Ali would land every punch and combination he threw. Aside from this Wlad could not beat Purrity....a bum...in fact he was koed by him. That should say it all. If not two other nothings also knocked him out. That should also say it all. Start listening.

It's no use debating with him. His whole argument is based on "Prime Ali is unbeatable".

I state facts...you refuse to listen. I lived through The Ali era...I don't believe you did so I indeed have a more in depth perspective.

Purity is a bum and he koed Wlad...end of story. If that was it then chalk it up to a bad night...but it's still real bad. However he had three real bad nights. Three brutal ko losses. Ali is just to quick for such a big slow moving glass chinned fighter. A complete massacre.

And to think Ali needs to be wary of the power of a guy like Purrity shows you know **** all about boxing. :hi:

Purrity is a nothing, a nobody. You only big him up because he KTFO of your boyfriend Wladmir.

Purrity would not Ko any other great.

In fact Purrity couldnt even ko Morrison.

Who would have won out of Ali and Tyson is, and always will be, debatable but don't you reckon that if the likes of Tucker,Green and Smith did n't get knocked out,Ali would avoid going that way too ?

    Welcome to the site :good

there seems to be a resurgence of dumb views here on the classic forum...

Ali at 32 was defeating prime Foreman and Frazier - what was Tyson doing at roughly the same age?

I like Tyson, I really do and for several rounds prime Tyson would pose Ali problems but to say he would kayo Ali early, does you, as a new poster, no favours at all.

Explain why Tyson would easily beat Ali in the opening rounds?

  11. Ali- Who could have beat him?

    Mike Tyson
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Vitali Klitschko
    Magomed Abdusalamov

    And probably 30 other boxers

if its obvious why bother posting?

I think its high time some of these losers (thommo, lion etc) were given their own sub forum where they could troll till their hearts were content.

I agree with you. I do think the one advantage and only one thing going for them is TECHNOLOGY. They look better physically, but remember, those guys of yesteryear fought 15 rounds back then and sometimes fought 5-10 times a YEAR! We are lucky if we get 2 fights a year from the top ten p2p. Give me the old timers all day!
