How will he impose his strength?
Against who? Ali took Foreman, Lyle & Shavers on the Chin. Note: Past prime (Second Career).
    Ali's is superior
Lennox Lewis cut his face up.
    Ali is just as busy.
    Already Explained
    Lateral Movement.

    Remember: Prime Versions plz.

Greater reach? What are you smoking? Ali would have trouble touching prime Vitali consistently, he has a shorter reach plus Vitali's height advantage works in his favor making his chin ever more elusive. No doubt he would land, but not consistently. And guess what: The oh-so-clumsy Vitali would land a good dozen shots on Ali, even if you think he's fast as lightning.

The truth is Ali has two ways to victory. A TKO via injuries or points, he won't KO Vitali. And I don't see him leading on the cards. Prime Vit wins by TKO or UD. It's that simple.

Oh and let's see. Prime Lewis and Bowe would probably also demolish Ali. Same with Wlad.

60s fighters don't stack up too well with modern age fighters but that's just my opinion and I understand we all see things differently.

Both Vitali and Ali have 80' inch wingspans, Ali would be able to out-speed Vitali and outpoint him.

How does Vitali reach Ali if he couldn't make full contact with an elusive Byrd?

Lewis & Bowe would be a tough matchup for Ali.

I commend you though Madballster, you are consistent with your views.

If you bring up Byrd then we have to assume Ali also manages to injury Vitali. If he does I think he will easily cruise to a UD or possibly even a late TKO if he swarms Vitali.

If he doesn't inflict a major injury on Vitali however he gets beaten to a bloody pulp over a long 12 rounds. Just like Byrd would have.

If someone is going to beat another quality fighter because of a stylistic problem it is naturally understood that they must have other attributes such as toughness, speed cleverness etc. in order to prevail. The point is that if a second rate fighter like Byrd can cause Vitali a few problems with this style, it gives us some insight into an Ali/Vitali match.

We would take the best example out of those 00's fighters because none of these guys are anywhere near Ali's level anyway (Lewis's Style is different to Ali). What matters is whether we believe that the ability to measure and time Vitali, Upper Body Movement and all of the other attributes he used in that match are eclipsed by Ali's ability in all those areas anyway.
