The gulf in quality between these two is astonishing. Look at prime Ali's footwork for 2 minutes and then compare it to prime Vitali. There is such a huge difference in their boxing ability. It's like comparing Maidana to Arguello.

Did Byrd give Vitali problems or did he torn shoulder tendon give Vitali problems? :deal

I would accept the argument if you brought up Kirk Johnson - who stood against the ropes and dodged most of Vitalis punches rather easily. But Byrd is a moot point IMO.

The same Vitali that Corrie Sanders was able to land on for a round til the old man got tired?

Ali would just move and easily point his way to victory. Vitali probably wouldnt be stopped though. Unless he quit

    Ali too fast

would do a job on either Klit.

    Would be easy work.

Ali lands 3 jabs a straight right and gets out of there before Vitali can even throw half a jab

Some of you clowns speak of Ali like he had superpowers and wasn't subject to normal physics. I got news for you: He's beatable, just like Vitali is.

The naive Ali fanboys are just as bad as the ridiculous Klitschko fans who think Vitali is the greatest boxer who ever lived.

Did Vitali just walk into the Ring with a Shoulder Injury. :think

Tell me how Vitali would spark Ali.

spot on Madballster... i am a big klitschko fan but i understand that they aren't the best thing since sliced bread.

I would favor Lewis over both klitschkos (not by much, but it would be 55/45 or 60/40). on the same note no matter how fast Ali is i can't favor him no matter what. Everyone mentions chris bird, but thats redicouls... Fighers get injured and if that fight happened 100 more times the only way byrd would ever win is if the same thing happened again.

Byrd didn't give Vitali any problems, byrd is an elusiv fighter that made vitaly miss a lot but he didn't punish vitaly, he didn't outbox vitaly.

Anyways i've repeated this information before somewhere i am sure, people have their views and will argue their points. if you like the figher you will make their case, if you dont you will argue against them. Vitaly beats Ali 9/10 times.

The outcome would not be predictable, not at all.
It would be an interesting fight, no doubt.

    hahah! such dumb revisionism.

have you actually seen a vitali fight, how slow he plods around? Versus the speed of foot of Ali?

Hands are five times as fast, let alone feet.

    I agree with this..
I am one of the biggest Vitali supporters on this site, but i think that Ali is the greatest HW of all time, and that he could beat any HW in history..
That being said, Ali isn't an unstoppable inhuman force that can't be defeated.. I think that Ali would win a 9-3 type UD with Vitali having his moments..
