She said something slightly complimentary about Floyd. The Floyd hater bitches get all worked up into a sexist frenzy. Its the only way they can really respond with their lack of IQ.

Frazier's corner stopped the fight. Frazier would have died in the ring befor he quit. Ali was telling his corner to cut his gloves off.

It really doesnt matter, cause Ali won. You can say IF all day long about boxing, but you cant change the outcome.

he didn't look so hot getting dropped by Sonny Banks and Cooper. He didn't look so good fighting Doug Jones.

Ali also had the advantage of being a rare breed of HWs that was very athletic, mostly because he was a LH at one point who filled out to a 200+ pounder, fighting against slower moving fighters.

Ali fought the better competition. And he did a lot of it past his peak which is even harder. However, Floyd is more technically sound both offensively and defensively.

im taking nothing away from ali

    their fights were unbelievable

2 of the greatest fighters of all time in the heavyweight division going at it properly....

fights like that make me proud to be a boxing fan (even though it was befor my time)

i said 'intresting fact' and 'ali bomaye' to try and keep it neutral ... but i can see how it could be interpretated as sarcasm

I think Ali would have came out because they would have pushed him out. Dundee was not going to allow that fight to stop. Dundee pushed Ali out when he was blind against Liston and told him to just dance. Ali had Parkinson's and Dundee was still pushing away.

I say he gets pushed out for the final round.

I think Frazier would have absolutely came out as well if it weren't for Futch. Which I'm not saying was a bad call, but not the Frazier call.

And Dundee still pushed Ali out against Liston when Ali said the same thing.

The green version before he won the title? Well observed. If we're about to start judging fighters careers on how infallible they looked before winning a world title then we may as well be hailing the likes of Mark Breland and Don Curry as timeless greats.

Most of the Heavyweights during that time and before started out as Light Heavyweights, it was simply that Ali was an extra-ordinary physical talent, and he gets all the credit in the world for being that. He was special.

    ...So was Marlon Starling.

What exactly do I want to be, Michigan?

There were dozens of fighters throughout history that can claim to be technically superior to Muhammad Ali, but why is it such a talking point in regards to Floyd? Muhammad Ali was the greater fighter, he proved it against substantially better opposition.

Yes, since it is all relative. I can't remember Floyd being dropped even when he was green, can you?
Ali's skills really never changed. Physically however, he matured/thickened into more of a Man which helped him take punishment. Technically, still the same pre-exile. He adjusted his style post-exile because he didn't have his legs working the same. Now that, if you want to look at legacy and who had the harder test, fightng past your best and winning against HOF caliber fights is more impressive. At this point, Floyd as well doesn't have his legs working quite the same compared to his early days, nor is his overall speed equal to his early days...and he is past his peak...but he is not challenging himself like Ali did. So again, Ali has proven to be better at this point.

Also, those smaller guys were faster overall which is another difference you have to remember. Once Ali started to fight the 200+, they were slower overall.

True. Just like some fighters started at lower weights and eventually moved up.

Ali was special. Not saying he wasn't.

Technically however, Floyd is better with understanding all the ins-and-outs of boxing. That's what I was talking about.

Not "technically" better in terms of being the greater fighter because if that is the only thing we are talking about, Ali proved his worth more.

Even if she actually Boxed? Had a Belt? and would woop your ass?

Did she lie? Technically he is better then Ali.
Ali Defense was in his athletism those fighters that come about that are before there time comes every 20 years or so Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammed Ali, Roy Jones it will be a while before we see this all over again!!!!!!

Mayweather Might have this himself but the diffrence is he dont have the heart to show so he went with a technical approach!! and actually learned sound defense. Mayweather is more complete then Ali. Its Flashy style they had but when the Age approaches and this stuff fades, what do you have left! you gotta survive off heart and Power, because you didnt Completely Master Boxing.
