At 175 pounds, or thereabouts? Hard to stay cut up that way at 35 (or more) pounds heavier.

Thank you for sharing that picture. He looked great there!

You can tell he wasn't hitting the weights compared to his sparring partner, look at the difference in vascularity, he was cut but no veins popping

Man Ali was deep past his shoulder, that right was landing/landed and there was nothing he could do about it, not even prime Tyson could do it like that

He had a bit of vein definition you can see around the bicep but yeah he looks fully bodyweight fitness built as opposed to free weights. Still, you can see the genetic potential there. An Ali engaged in modern strength and conditioning would have been something.

“Veins Popping” is not a sign of lifting? Where did you get that from?

Yeah at 6’3” 175 lbs, 18 years of age and incredibly well trained there isn’t much room for fat

That’s the answer he’s skinny, muscular to an extent but literally lithe as a cheetah no room left. Ali still could’ve made HW whilst being effective at that age and planned to but he was knocked out of the bracket by someone else in the amateurs right? I have forgotten I probably knew at one time. People underestimate majorly just how much fat they have on their body, Ali here is a teenager but even as a grown man in his prime he only weighed 206lbs for Liston… he just got undisciplined as his career went on it’s not voodoo or aging it’s well documented and eventually like Toney who we mock Ali was pretty much just turning up uninspired and fat whilst his training became mostly sparring a bunch of rounds…. Actually throw in some slow runs and that was also Holmes late reign and comeback expect he sparred even more, just as crazy frequent as Toney.

Ali's beloved mother was a great cook..
Towards the end of his career Muhammad loved fried chicken with potatoes, and fried greens. He ate a lot of ice cream in the evening. All this information was in a recent book

Between 1964 and 1968 was his absolute best look in my opinion.
His body had matured, and he was at the absolute peak of his physicality.
The results in the ring was the proof as he dominated some damn good heavyweights.
