Don't u think he asked the ref to stop some fights cuz he knew his opponent was in a lot of trouble and didn't want to see them get badly hurt. Gee criticising someone for doing that is going a bit far. Ali saw boxing as an art form not a streetfight like Tyson did. And don't talk about Peace you only have to look at religions and wars to know about that nonsense. Ali always had time for anyone outside the ring and didn't fight outside of it.

Yeah, Ali punished certain fighters just as bad if not worse than Tyson did because he didn't like the way they acted OUTSIDE the ring.

So much for your bull**** theory.

And not fighting outside the ring?

Mhm, Ali only insulted decent people like Frazier to the point where they held a grudge decades later because they hit that deeply.

I think that you still have to rate him highly, he still has an amazing resume but like a Louis or a Dempsey if you look hard enough you can punch holes in it.

Ali, if he had lost the decisions to Young and Norton, as he should have, in my opinion, would probably have created another kind of legacy, something like that of Sugar Ray Robinson's by coming back to regain the title from these men. He may have very well have won the rematched convincingly (by decisions, I'm sure0, but boxing politics, being as they were back then, as as they have always been, the judges would have awarded Ali the nods even if he sucked.
