So what did happen to Muhammad Ali's Olympic Gold Medal....they say he threw it into the Ohio river, though Thomas Hauser Ali's official biographer reckons he lost it whilst living in Miami... Either way...no matter who finds it is gonna be racking in the money!!?
I doubt anyone will find it, it's probably wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy at the bottom of that river... or maybe a fish ate it. Who knows xD
I tryed looking for it...........well at least we no that it aint in the river thames like my ******* brother told me oh and back to the subject yea i think rashad evans is gona get knocked out in the 2nd round tonyt and sera is gona KO matt huges after taking a beating himself
....an with him not actually wanting it in the first place i'd gladly be happy with that amount!!? It would take pride of place on me mantle piece..
I have it. My grandpa gave it to me as a communion present 25 years ago. I've been using it as a paperweight for the last three years. If anyone is interested in it, let me know. I'll let it go for $2,500.
He said in his autobiography that he threw it into the river because he wanted to make sure that he retained his hunger to succeed in the pro ranks. When he won the world title he made ammends with himself for throwing it away. If I remember correctly the medal was later recovered and he gave it to his friend who had helped him when he was up and coming etc.
Ali said he simply lost it when interviewed by Davis Miller. He did not throw it into any river. It just sounded better.
The story of him throwing it in the river came from his autobiography, The Greatest. That book is very entertaining but I think the ghost writers embellished some to emphasize their points. http://www.amazon.com/Joe-Gans-Biography-American-Champion/dp/0786439947/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b
his official biographer came up with a different story, so makes u wonder what really did happen to it....to be fair Ali dont really mind....he got another years down tha line anyways
