So what did happen to Muhammad Ali's Olympic Gold Medal....they say he threw it into the Ohio river, though Thomas Hauser Ali's official biographer reckons he lost it whilst living in Miami...
Either way...no matter who finds it is gonna be racking in the money!!?

I wonder how much that would be worth. I'm guessing probably around $8 to $12 million.

I have it. My grandpa gave it to me as a communion present 25 years ago. I've been using it as a paperweight for the last three years. If anyone is interested in it, let me know. I'll let it go for $2,500.

He said in his autobiography that he threw it into the river because he wanted to make sure that he retained his hunger to succeed in the pro ranks. When he won the world title he made ammends with himself for throwing it away. If I remember correctly the medal was later recovered and he gave it to his friend who had helped him when he was up and coming etc.

Ali said he simply lost it when interviewed by Davis Miller. He did not throw it into any river. It just sounded better.

...and he didn't write his own autobiography. That accounts for all the fiction that is in it.
