I met Ali but he was in dress shoes so it was hard to really judge but a friend of mine is 6"2.5 and was also in dress shoes but was taller than Ali. Angelo Dundee said" Ali fought tall, he stood 6"2 but appeared taller. Foreman is listed as 6'3-6"4 but is closer to 6"3

I spoke to many boxing people and have heard anywhere from 6"1.5 to 6"3

Does anyone have pictures or clear evidence of this

Funny bc I'm currently watching Ali Foreman and Wondered if Ali might have actually been taller than foreman , maybe it was due to Forrman being leaned over possibly but Ali seemed like a big man in this fight

Ali always tended to stand up straight though, while I think Foreman would slouch or lean forward slightly in most cases.

    I'd guess 6'2 or 6'3 myself.

That makes sense as I watch Foreman look at the canvas and launch liver shots.

Ali loomed over Quarry. He looked like he had been hitting the weights and drinking protein for Zaire.

If that's the case then Bobick must've been a redwood bc Norton was for sure shorter when they met for sodas .

He was 6'1 in the olympics.

But i'd say 6'3 is accurate

In the many tales of the tape I've seen of his fights,Muhammad's height was always printed as being 6'3

The only reliable thing about tale of the tape is that it isn't reliable.

Also you're taller when you come out of your bed than late in the evening.

The loss of height during the day is 1,1% on average. The body-length-curve can be influenced by weight bearing and lying.

I always thought both Ali and Foreman seemed taller than their listed heights.

The tall guys they make taller and the short guys they make shorter, I heard Vlad Klitschko is 6"5 and a quarter but listed higher.....from what I have been told Ali was about 6'2 and a quarter or a half which was good height for the time and probably the tallest elite heavyweight up until that point in time. Foreman was about 6"3 maybe a hair taller...most of the guys that knew him well say 6'2

People get somewhat shorter when they get old - 0.4 of an inch every 10 years after reaching 40 on average apparently. It could have made Ali over an inch shorter by now plus he probably doesn't exactly walk or stand perfectly straight due to his illness.
