I was doing some research into Ali's second reign, and I was very curious about his retirement statements and what followed.

First, he announced he will be retiring after the Bugner fight: https://www.nytimes.com/1975/06/23/archives/ali-announcing-his-retirement.html

Then, he was supposed to go out after the trilogy with Norton: https://www.nytimes.com/1976/10/02/...-to-assist-the-islamic-cause-ali-says-he.html

Were there any more retirements? Do you guys know what was the protocol of the sanctioning bodies and The Ring Magazine after these statements? Are there any press articles on his return? How long did these retirements last? He fought Frazier only 3 months after Bugner and fought Evangelista 8 months after Norton.
