Wilder is not 6'9....he's 6'7.....and as far as being a "pencil neck", we'll he's 26 and hasn't entire filled out his frame, similar to the Klitschko's in their early to mid 20's. We had a guy like Valuev, 7'2 330 lbs.....with pillows for fists, guy had no power not to mention being slow as an elephant. Size isn't everything
It is counter productive to come in that heavy, when the sport of boxing has a maximum of 12 rounds. Stamina is a essential, at the top level....
No. Wrestling is just much more physically taxing than boxing. Its why amateur wrestling matches are so short.
His striking isnt over rated, he just isnt your typical puncher. hes gor great defense and he loads up big time on all of his punches. He tends to bully up on his opponent and not clinical like the K brothers. This doesnt make Overeem over rated, just different. No doubt, its embarrassing to label some guy as the baddest man in the planet, only for that guy to run away from punches. Your kidding me right? fedor looses 3 (one doctor stoppage, one sub by the best sub HW sub artist in the world, and one KO that he actually recovered straight away) and out of the top twenty, while Brock looses 2 (sub my a mid level grappler and a brutal loss that made him do a chicken dance) and still in the top 5? Zombies was itching to bump Fedor out of the top 10, his first loss in 10 years and hes out of the top ten. While Cain, Carwin, Brock still stays even though their losses were simply pathetic. With one gassing out, one running away, and one a very quick KO. I agree in boxing. Too cumbersome and not enough stamina and combos. Just the way I see it. Because they dont have cardio. Boxing is more concentrated on specific muscles of the body, top level especially are extremely taxing.
Oh man. You don't understand anything. Overeem doesn't possess anything like the stamina or flexibility to be a top boxer. When are people going to just accept that MMA and boxing are two completely different sports, with different physical attributes and skillsets needed. Overeem needs huge core strength for grappling, boxers don't need this, hence the difference in physique, etc etc.
Really? Overeem HW resume: Werdum (pts), Todd Duffee, Rogers, Fujita, James Thompson, Goodridge, Hunt, Buentello... :dead Dos Santos HW resume: Werdum (KO), Cain Velasquez, Carwin, Nelson, Crocop, Yvel, Gonzaga, Struve... :yikes Who is really the baddest man between these two?? :think
In boxing there are more rounds than in K-1 or MMA. Btw Overeem is more like 6 4 Werdum who is 6 4 is slightly taller than Overeem
Ill expand a bit since its you Popkins JDS is great, im a big fan, i rate him second at heavyweight You put most of your emphasis on resume. Because Alisdair hasnt been matched up with as high quality opponents lately as Cigano, he falls behind here on paper I put more emphasis on what ive seen and what i feel. Im not saying you dont do that, but you lend more weight to resume JDS could well beat him. Hes a great fighter and im sold on him But you got to remember JDS' game is striking. Overeem is the best heavyweight striker in MMA Its my feeling that in two not so small steps for man, Overeem will be the new UFC Heavyweight Champion of the World as well as the Baddest Man on the Planet :smoke
A. Overrem is more like 6'3 1/2 255 pounds. W. Klitshcko 6'6 1/2 244 pounds V. Klitshcko 6'7 1/2 250 pounds Deontay Wilder 6'7 220 pounds,.
