Overeem would do well in the UFC but I think Mir takes him. Frank is too well rounded & he seems to be taking it more seriously this time around.

Mir by sub. I'd like to see Overeem fight Kongo, that's a better fight for him

Frank has worked on his striking and cardio alot he seems to be 10 times the fighter he was when he orginally won the UFC Championship. I see him getting this fight to the ground and working his outstanding ground game and winning with a Kimura.

    Based on what?

Since getting tooled by Pe De Pano and Vera he's beat a laughably one dimensional Antoni Hardonk, leglocked a 1-0 Brock Lesnar in a fight he was on his way to losing before a terrible call by the ref and then outboxed a zombified version of Nogueira who looked shot to **** and offered about as much resistance as a heavy bag.

Maybe Mir is much improved but it'll take more than him jabbing the head off Zombie Nog before I really believe it.

Pe De Pano? Please:roll: give Mir a break, it was his first fight back. He'd kill him now. And please tell me where the terrible call happened in the Lesnar fight. Explain please.

Exactly Mir isnt the 2006 verison anymore. It was his first fight back and his left leg the same one with screws and bolts holding it in place gave out on him. Mir was still hurt, drinking alot, addicted to painkillers, not training hard etc. He took off 9 months after the Vera fight and now has had 3 violent submission or TKO victorys in a row. Hes confident now and much better then ever.

I need to see more of Mir. I'm not buying his transformation yet.

Overeem should absolutely tool him on the feet.

I can not get that beating from Pe De Pano out of my mind. That was so ugly.
That Vera fight was nasty too.

Frank Mir strikes me as the type who will get bored again.. and get destroyed by someone. Seems lazy.

Totally agree with you. For anyone to downplay his comeback making excuses for the quality of opponents or the little bit of experience they had shows that they don't fully respect the man's effort. For someone to actually mention Pe De Pano like he was to much for Mir and beat him as if he were at his best is ridiculous. For someone to all of a sudden complain Lesnar only had 1 fight by the time he fought Mir is ridiculous also. And I'm sick and tired of people saying the terrible call in that fight.

There are rules and those were obviously fouls. They complain Lesnar wasn't given a warning. Well there's a reason for that, he threw several shots to the back of Mir's head. He didn't throw one shot, that would be a warning, no the guy tried to start raining on the back of the man's head. MMA has a rule book and it needs to be followed. Man I hope Mir subs that moron again. And before the NOG fight, EVERYONE pretty much picked NOG to win, obviously that didn't happen and Mir gets bad critisim. That is crap.

The point deduction was bull****. Mir turned into the punches and Lesnar inadvertently caught him on the back of the head. A warning would have sufficed, rather than stopping the fight to issue a deduction.

But regardless of that, what has "new Mir" actually done? Subbed 2 guys who didn't know anything about the submissions they were supposed to be defending and then outboxed a zombie. We already knew about his sub game so his reputation as a vastly improved fighter is, as far as I can tell, based entirely on his fight with Nogueira. Do I give him credit for defying the odds and winning? Yes, but I certainly don't ignore how incredibly bad Nogueira looked throughout.

Well before the NOG fight everyone said NOG was gonna win. Mir didn't even really get any benefit of the doubt, he was completely counted out. I said he had a chance of winning and people said I was crazy. Everyone was expecting Crock vs NOG. People said Mir would get beat on the feet cause NOG has Boxed with the Cuban Olympic Boxing team, and of course on the ground the morority opinion was that he'll get subbed.

Mir totally Boxed NOGS ears off and all of a sudden it gets down played because NOG is old? That's total bull**** because if NOG won nobody would have complained and the majority of people that swore he would win would have been right. Yeah NOG was a zombie, because Mir MADE him look like a zombie. I'm pretty sure NOG thought he'd have his way anywhere the fight went, but it didn't go down that way. And that point deduction isn't bull****.

If he's turning then Lesnar has to stop throwing punches in that direction. It's very simple. It's called being a professional. He continued to throw punches like some mad man that didn't know what he was doing. If Crock wants to bully everyone and be out of control, he can take his stupid roided ass back to professional wrestling after Mir subs him again.

It would be tough for Overeem to stop him in the 2nd when Mir would sub him in the 1st:yep
