I didn't score it, but I think people around here are exaggerating how well Szpilka was doing. It didn't look like he ever hurt or seriously troubled Wilder, even if Wilder did look awkward and dim witted. He got in a couple of pitty pat shots and managed to outscore him on a couple of rounds but whenever Wilder hit him with those long right hands he'd stick out his tongue, make faces, and spread his arms pretending like he wasn't hurt when he really was. Even before the knockout, Wilder was obviously scoring the harder more meaningful shots, when he wasn't swinging at air and stumbling around like Frankenstein's monster.
A lot of these guys would say Wilder was losing a fight and getting his butt handed to him if he was out landing the other guy 2-1. The truth is, it was a pretty close and uneventful fight where Wilder was never in the least bit of trouble. Had it continued like it was, it would have been at worst a flimsy decision loss, probably an ugly decision win though. That's why you have knockouts, to make the scorecards meaningless. But he was not losing this fight anyway. At best, it could have gone either way.
All this proves is the judges scored using the correct scoring criteria, which is a given most of you scored with your hate. Really shows how lost most of the posters on here are. Szpilka did the absolute best he could with what he has to work with. It's obvious many on here are scoring rounds against Wilder if he doesn't just about take his opponents head off. Just because it took Wilder longer to get his distance and timing down against an opponent who fought like a chicken with its head 90% cut off doesn't mean he was scoring the more clean, effective punches nor was he being the effective aggressor. All Szpilka could manage was lasting as long as he did, koodo's on that. Wilder landed 80+%,of the clean effective punches, and Wilder doesn't lose rounds because his balance is weaker than needed for top fighters. Anyone who had Szpilka "winning" any round, forget about winning, lmfao. Which round did he win cleanly and what did he do that actually made that single round his. Since so many lie to themselves and make believe sh!t happened that never took place. This SHOULD be very simple, and you clueless "fans" should come up with a bunch of rounds with lots of reasons, non fiction please. Just 1 single round will do
Szpilka built a huge early lead, but by midfight, Wilder started landing his bombs more frequently as the fight progressed. I think Szpilka was still ahead, but his punches were losing their sting while Wilder's were landing cleaner and cleaner each time. Szpilka obviously got overconfident, dropping his hands numerous times, and thought he could walk thru Deontay's power right hand. Had he avoided the right, Szpilka would of still lost a controversial decision, but his stock would of rosen. I still think his stock did rise, he boxed very well most of the fight, just opened up too much and got caught. Wilder got saved by his power, but he's still a limited fighter. His footwork is horrible.
Going into the 9th I had it evens, but it was pretty close. The fact the fight was looking so close tells you everything you need to know about Wilder. Saying that, lovely KO though
Wilder is so limited he makes fights against NO-HOPERS entertaining and very close. Dahaupas, Moline and Sziplika
Just goes to show any cherry pick going there has to knock out Wilder. He's the cash generator and golden boy, they are not going to give you anything but your sh itty check for $80k. People had the cheek to moan about K2 purses.
my same question , theres a lot of fight that we cant find on youtube or even on allthebestfights.com examples: kovalev vs boone 1 adonis vs boone 1 macabu vs mchunu vargas vs khabib etc...
