A lot of what happens is for show. How many big fights have been off and then suddenly back on lately.

Usually I would say 'yes, it is a publicity stunt and part of the promotion'.

But I think the 'drug cheat' allegations or inferences are much too damaging to play around with. So in this case, No. It's for real.

on the biggest sports radio show in Canada they were talking about it quite a bit last night. Also, most of the callers wanted to discuss the fight. The hosts even had Bert Sugar on to discuss the situation in detail. Pretty big deal considering they very rarely talk about boxing on that show.

Their opinion was largely that Floyd was trying sabotage the fight and weasel out of it.

If it wasn't for others trying to get both teams to discuss once again this fight would be over and will never happen so I doubt this is mind games in any way especially when Arum already mentioned a list of possible opponents. When Pac, Roach and Arum said they don't need Mayweather as much as he needs them they didn't lie. Is there any bigger fight for Mayweather?, Mosley/Berto winner is a big fight but as big as a fight with Pac?, no way. Pac can fight the winner of that fight, Marquez in a third fight or Foreman and he will get a lot of support and attention for any of those fights.

Mayweather doesn't have good enough options out there and needs this fight badly. If he fights M.Hatton then it's obvious he's only here for some quick money before taking off once again.

If anything Arum and the rest of Pac's crew have been very tolerant and interested so far despite all the negativity and disrespect from Mayweather and his team.

Well you can't blame if anyone quickly gets old waiting for the development of this fight. I hope these two team involve meet or agree a term that would make this fight possible soon.

It has crossed my mind before now that this may all be a big publicity stunt...its getting a lot of people talking. Sure many would have anyway but this is fuel to the fire. I think yes it probably is a stunt and that this fight is DEFINATELY GOING TO HAPPEN. Bet y'all a $ it does.

Even though I do think that the fight almost sells itself, I don't think Arum and Schafer are content with that. I think that Arum and GBP coordinated this stunt in order to create a firestorm of publicity (for free), and that the rest of Team Pac is either unaware or a reluctant participant. Especially if someone on the GBP side reveals later on that the entire thing was bull**** and was solely to promote the fight.
