Sure would but again if there wont be a rematch with Berto then he needs to fight someone to become mandatory for ibf belt...thats the easiest way to get a title back (thats what keep pushing him forward he said in the last interview - to get his belt back)

It might be good to fight Mike Jones... and beat him, then he would get him back in line.
Is there any chance to fight Mosley?

Jones in now 2nd on IBF rankings just after Bailey so i guess it would be a good fight for him.

For Mosley Zaveck is not interesting as he dont have a belt anymore or good money.

If Ortiz dont get a rematch with May then it could be interesting to se Ortiz vs Zaveck and the winner gets Berto...

hmmm IBF belt is without owner...If Zaveck would somehow get a chance to fight for it again...

I heard that in February or March 2012 there can be a fight for European WW champion between Hatton and Zaveck...

After losing his IBF welterweight championship on a cut caused by a head clash in his defense against Andre Berto in September, Jan Zaveck is ready to return to the ring. “I’ll be back in full training this week and am hungry for my next fight early next year,” stated Zaveck today in Magdeburg, Germany. He is aiming to get right back into the top ratings of the world sanctioning organizations. Regarding Berto vacating the title this week, Zaveck stated “My stage is the boxing ring! Whether against Berto or anyone else in the welterweight division – for me it’s certain, I will be world champion again in 2012!”

    GO DEJAN!!

Bethuel "Tyson" Uushona will fight former IBF Welterweight Champion Dejan Zavec (Jan Zaveck) from Slovenia at a yet to be confirmed venue in Europe at the end of January.
“Tyson was supposed to fight Michael Sangweni from South Africa on Saturday but we decided it is better if he fights against the former world champion,” Tobias said.
“It’s a good fight and a good offer for Tyson.”

He is 6th on WBO WW rankings and African WW champion...nowhere confirmed that fight yet but don`t understand Zaveck to be honest...

What do you guys think? Anyone heard of Uushona??

I still believe in Zaveck! :bbb

Williams is an interesting one. Zaveck could score the KO (certainly if Martinez can with a perfect shot, the door's open for a lesser overall fighter but bigger puncher in Zaveck - especially if Williams is drained down to WW) or he could get wind flapped in his face for 10/12 rounds. It depends on how smart/lucky Paul is on the night.

Berto, I think Zaveck could stop late in a rematch. I think he could have done so the first time had he not caught a bad break.

Mosley, he is NOT knocking out. Nor is SSM knocking him out. That means, if it's in the USA, Zaveck loses a decision no matter how it actually plays out. (since Shane is shot enough that Zaveck could probably manage to not only be competitive with the Hall of Fame "power-boxer" but get the People's Decision, winning on most fan cards)

I wish he get a chance to fight anyone from the boxers you written down above...don`t know why he would fight Uushona..what would that bring to him? Ok warming up fight maybe? Would expect he would wanna fight some of the best European fighters and not African champ...but on the other hand Uushona is 6th on WBO rankings (2 places above Zaveck).

Less then a week till the 1st fight for Jan Zaveck after a loss to Andre Berto..
It will be in Slovenia against WBO African champion Bethuel "Tyson" Uushona (rated 6th on WBO WW rankings - Zaveck 9th). This fight will be for Inter-continental belt of the WBO which in the past Zaveck already held when he started his way to become champion by IBF.

What do you guys think is this a good fight to start after loss?

What can i say...nice show by both boxers..Zaveck proved he is experianced then Ushona. Must say Ushona showed as a good boxer that should of fight more in Europe to get that kind of experiance. Hope Jan can get a good match in USA next...

    Ushona was a tricky *******.

No fault of Zaveck's to come away without the KO.

He still logged a respectable performance against that style (and given his own limitations of speed and movement).

Yeah was reading today some namibian web sites and they said like referee helped Zaveck to win the fight and that is should of been Tyson with the win..

    One more thing..was a knock-down in round 11 or was a slip?
